Seedling/Clone Light

Figured I would post up my recent strip build in case anyone is looking to build something strip wise for a very small space. This will be going in my seedling cabinet.

I went with Bridgelux Vesta strips hooked up to a xlg-100-L-ab dimmed with a 100k pot. Turned out pretty solid, I have a feeling the lil ones will love it. Maxes out at 100w (not needed) which is perfect for my needs, everything stays cool.

Frame is 1/16 1”x1” aluminum angle, Heat sinks are 1/8 2” aluminum flat. Whole unit measures in at 24” x 13.5”

Hey man, that looks really great.Wonderful work there! So if those flat stocks are 2" wide, Vesta strips are about 1-1/4"wide it looks about?

Its a damn site more pretty than mine!! Which is just 4 eb gen 2s thermal siliconed on a flat plate.

Be interested to hear where you settle on the dimmer.
What did you pay for the vestas
Thanks man! I had a lot of fun doing it, minus dropping my solder gun and breaking it, as well as burning my finger trying to catch it like a dumb ass lol.

The vesta’s were going for $15 CDN each and the dimmer is just a plain old $1.90 0.5w linear 100k pot. I installed it on the front of the unit for easy access.

Thanks dude!, and thanks for helping me trying to figure out a driver. When I was ordering everything I was pretty baked and failed to take note about needing to double the forward voltage requirements due to the vesta’s having two channels. Went with a parallel/series setup. Still worked out!

didn’t see the vesta question. Yeah they’re pretty much exactly that. I went for the wider flat stock in case I swap out the driver one day and run more juice to the boards. I always try and plan these build with room to upgrade down the road.

Beautiful work! I'd love to see a pic once you've got it set up in the cab.

So Yo, @bigmikey86 for your driver, to set the current at 700ma, did you even use a multimeter, or just turn it all the way counter-clockwise and call it good?
