It really helps a lot getting a first hand point of view, your input is appreciated. I'm currently saving money just waiting for the right opportunity to open up, and if I had been a good year or two sooner I would probably be in Colorado now but since I'm not and the margin for new money to be made is much slimmer then before I will have to find something new. But I'm sure the key to success in this market is the same as any other market, when you find a need you fill that need better and faster then everyone else trying to do the same thing. The hemp industry sounds promising though...

another friend made a good analogy the other day .... back in the gold rush, who made the money? generally, it was the suppliers of goods - merchants/stores. lots of industry areas to be explored though- supply. manufacturing. sales. media. advertising. Internet. apps. marketing. so many things .... dream and live those dreams my friend

but pretty much any newcomer in colorado would have to become a MMC and supply their own meds correct?

That depends on your intent. If you are going to run a small non profit garden from your basement, then just hook up with some patients that will assign you a grow. You can have up to 5.
You only need copies of their ID, Red Card, and change of caregiver form that was sent to the state.

If you have more than 5 patients, you are then required to go through the MMC licensing mess when that comes our from under the moratorium [july of 2011 or maybe 2012]

I don't know if I'd call it a 2nd 'job', more like a high end hobby (covering basic expenses and not paying for your own meds, gaining more knowledge/experience.) with 5 patients, you can grow plenty

haha what exactly do you mean I am in a MMC? Like they hire you and you grow for them?

I'm not a 'at home' caregiver, growing for a few patients. I run a warehouse and grow for a few more hence my lack of knowledge on the 'caregiver' side. most of the main MMC growers began as caregivers and can give better advice in that realm .... I went straight into the commercial side.

for commerical, that mean that you are different then, since you growing more? Like your not a "caregiver"?"
Like are you paid hourly or based on your yield?

base salary + yield bonuses seems to be the standard from the few commercial growers I've talked to.
