I don't know exactly what sanctions are happening but Biden says it is worse for Putin than being thrown out of the SWIFT banking system.
SWIFT is a Euro-Centric trade system so the E.U. and others have a lot to lose if Russia gets the boot. Something like 500 Billion ( something maybe dollars or Euros ) in trade will be lost hurting the world economy.

Putin, I hear, is the richest man on the planet so he wouldn't feel it I hear.
Putin is going to miss the 200 billion or more dollars he has stashed in the US and other Western countries. A couple of weeks ago, it was reported that Putin made some unusual mistakes after Biden mentioned using personal sanctions against Putin and his family. He regained composure the next day.

Europe announced personal sanctions against Vlad today. As of yesterday, the US had not. That is the kind of money that bought the election of Trump and funded the convoy in Canada. We should have done this a while ago. They already sanctioned everybody below him and their families. I was relishing the idea that he would be untouched while his cronies suffered. Maybe then the knives would come out.

The way his administration explained it yesterday is they intend to roll out more sanctions as Putin crosses more lines in international laws and norms. They are carving out trade and industries that strategically important to the west. Energy imports from Russia, for example. Those are not sanctioned because doing so would hurt the worldwide economy as it recovers from the pandemic.

I was explaining the eccentricities of some Americans because she was puzzled. Imagine how sky would sound to you from across the seas and English is not your native language.

I wasn't calling sky a Karen but she can come across as a douche if you don't know her.
she was being rude...she can be a decent person who makes intelligent statements, i expect better, although my expectations only matter to myself

The state department and others will work on it over the next couple of years and gradually unentangle Russia from the global financial and trade systems, hopefully from the information systems too. Likewise with Europe paying for gas, for now at least, but that is gonna change over the summer I think. I believe Joe announced sanctions against Putin today.

He can kiss his psyops in this country goodbye. The image of pacman chomping pixels comes to mind. It was all dirty money. We have no obligation to give it back.

Next shoe to drop are his bagmen in this country. Cut off from funds and deep in debt, some will flip.

love, love, love this development.

Yeah and it has nothing to do with where are you from, been traveling in over 30 countries on 4 continents with or without money and I came to the conclusion that being rude is either frustration or lack of knowledge.:weed:

besides this, i’m curious what kind of news and constant tv shows are saying in russia
