I grew up in a "spare the rod, spoil the child" home and am grateful. Kids need a good ass spanking to get their attention, or they grow up to be adults who need a good ass beating.
I was offered a job with a PD out of college, but turned it down because I knew I would lose my mind the first time I saw someone abusing kids, and beat the shit out of the abusers. Now, those Mexican kids that run wild all over the grocery store....... those kids could push anyone over the brink..

I hate those kids running around the deli case poking their fingers in the uncooked strombolis and having to touch everything while their parents scream at each other in spanish and throw food in the cart like it was a basketball game.
When it comes time to pay, ha, out come the food stamps.

This question NEEDS to be farther in detail.
A Father should ONLY discipline his Daughter, And Mother To Son. This teaches our kids what the opposite sex is like, and how they will handle themselves once they're older, and in the situation where they need to think for themselves in terms of relationships. A father should never Hit his Daughter, Nor Mother to Son. ONLY discipline. Now, a mother SHOULD Hit Her daughter, and father to son. This teaches our kids to not be violent with the opposite sex, and in return they will stand up for themselves and show No remorse when they're giving the Ass beating.
Life is full of Pain. If you can't take it physically, you're going to have a hard time going down the path of riotousness.
This is how I see things. This is how I parent.

I don't spank my kids but I do have punishment in place if they do wrong. They lose privileges and they have to endure me "talking to them." I usually make sure they get a clear understanding of why they are in trouble. My boys don't do wrong too often. When they do, it's usually to each other. ( Brothers)
When kids are very young, it's more difficult because you can't reason with a three year old...you just have to either redirect them or be able to change the situation quickly. My kids would act up if they were tired, hungry or thirsty, you just have to figure out which one it is and deal with it.

if/when reason doesnt work, absolutely and absolutely. when "time outs" dont work i dont have a problem with corporal punishment. truth is, kids know time outs are bs. the first time your kid threatens you with the cops, call his bluff and you call em first. that shit only happened to me one time. the look of futility on their face while they sit in front of you and the cop while the cop explains how to properly administer a spanking tells the whole tale. i would never let my kid blackmail me. even if it meant me getting locked up for doing the right thing.

This is what kids are taught in school. Guess what? I was home schooled by my parents. And I got an ass beating everyday.. Even when I didn't do anything!! LOL
