Yes clean is good. I got a good compliment today from a guy from California who said " it smells like 90's weed from California."

IMG_20241122_072617.jpgThis is my city water. It is totally fucked and I get water that is about 8.4 about 15 min. from here. That still sucks. I feel like all the phosphoric acid pH down is not good. I'm still fertilizing lightly and am still seeing some calcium and potassium issues. I think periods of high EC and the plants sucking nutes also contribute to leaves showing calcium and potassium deficiency.
I'm testing the bloom mix I put together too. It seems to be good stuff so far. I am looking for good taste in the flower. I've got some really fat flowers coming along.

IMG_20241124_234142.jpgI've got to stop being lazy when it comes to measuring my 2-3-1. I've just been pouring without measuring. Often a diluted solution is all that is needed. After I top dressed with the bloom I mixed up is when I got signs of deficiencies. High EC and phosphorus and pH fluctuation I suspect. I have one plant as a control that got no ferts by accident. That plant shows no potassium or calcium deficiencies and upon turning pale got a strong dose of my bloom and the buds are smaller from the poor start but growing green and well now. The top of this plant is a little lighter and that is from feeding plain water and helps me see what's going on. I am looking forward to being able to purchase some DTE liquid calcium. I also used R/O water around the time some deficiency showed.

It is a convoluted tale I know. That was very wrong of my sister to tell me I am cut off. It definitely upset me. But moving on. I have to make this seed run I know that now.
I got two clone orders yesterday. I have to make a decision but I need the money. The people just want to smoke Skunk. They might sell clones too, but they are not trying to rob me of my legacy like the people that burned me in Richmond. At least I'll get credit for preserving this line of Skunk.

I'm committed now to making seeds. Tonight I listened to a pot cast with Tom Hill and he struck a chord talking about how now is the time -with nothing moving in a swamped market- to make seeds... I am feeling it now.
This was always a sacred mission. I wish I were working under different circumstances but I have adapted well to what I do have. I'm going to pop seeds in two weeks or less. I'm paranoid about using every seed. The last I did that - since I was making seeds- my patches got busted and I lost my most commercial old school cross. But I am just a homegrower now and not doing anything to get in trouble for.
I'm really looking forward to breaking out my firecracker cross f2's. Like a dummy, I gave 250 of these seeds to a grow store and did not get one single grow report. I felt burned then and I wondered what became of those seeds. If a firecracker pheno popped out that would be cool. I've tested one indoors and one out. The indoor plant was decent. I can't get to the photos to post any. The outdoor plant I did not like the bracting but it did not mold which is great for an indica dominant plant in VA. It had good resin but I overfertilized that plant and roached it.
I'm just writing here for enjoyment. No friends, no life, nothing better to do. I don't even have a cat like William S. Burroughs.
I miss outdoors. I've got some Dangerous Dog seeds. Nepalese. And Soma's Amnesia Haze. Banghi Haze. And my own rocking Skunk#1 x Chocolope. Dangerous Dog is not available anymore.
I need to cross the Dangerous Dog to Chitral to make Dog Chit. Just kidding lol.

I've got a cut of the Canuck Blueberry hybrid in case it turns out good. I like the way it looks so far. An old school indica looking plant. Unfortunately I couldn't have timed that one worse though to have one blueberry plant now. I could always chop it but it looks too good. I need some indica I can relate too. All I have is some Farmers Daughter and the buzz doesn't do much for me though it is potent. The lime pheno I had outdoors is what I'm smoking. The other pheno, the indoor one I thought sucked is the better one. Better taste and buzz. Burnt Rubber og. That's curing now.IMG_20241127_001340.jpg

It got pretty heavy quick on this thread when I thought I was cut off financially by family. My situation sucks but I am growing myself to happiness again. Who knows... maybe my special skunk x Chocolope pheno will turn up again?
I am going to get the skunk seeds out soon I think but that darn blueberry is taking up space. I did root clones already so I could cull but that blows.
Another consideration is ...do I use all the seeds and my gut and past experience says no. I don't like to think of the unforeseen but better to be prepared for it. I lost my best commercial strain because I popped all the seeds for f2's then got popped myself. ( On a side note...it is possible a seed could turn up mixed in with something else, particularly skunk because the harvest got pretty wild in 2004 with just me working it. I was pretty meticulous collecting seed but stranger things have happened already.)
I am already thinking of the next old seed project past the skunk#1 and it has to be the CXS. I will reveal a little. The side of it called Spear I can't identify. It has some kind of Haze sativa in it. Was supposed to be Shark Shock but the plant did not even appear to have skunk in it. It was like Afghani with a haze or hazy thing.
Combined with my top commercial strain it made fat potent gassy nugs with an acrid smell and punchy stone on a big branchy strong plant. The clone the pig people took in 2021 was bad ass. I have photos but can't get to them at this moment.
Only 12 seeds or so of that one now. I crossed the Skunk x Chocolope to it in 2021. I wonder how that would turned out?? Never seen before in Humboldt that's for sure.
The spear was once more crossed before being pollinated by the Afghan/ NL x Skunk.
At the time I thought nothing remarkable about the dirty terps but liked the yield, vigor and good resinous nuggets. And stone. When gas became popular it was the first thing I thought of.
So that's the plan at this moment in time.

The Shark Shock might have been Shark Shock. Maybe the South Indian gave the spear it's sativa quality. But the plant looked like alot of Afghani influence. With fat Afghani type leaves. I have a polaroid I'll try to dig it up. I never saw any skunk influence.

I just found out that Grow Generation in RVA closed up shop. That is how Governor Boobkin and the Repubtards are doing on cannabis in VA. That was the best store in Richmond for products overall. But the commercial business they were looking for never happened. Welcome to Virginia where the ignorance of the authorities is still on display everyday.

Too much talking and not enough of IMG_20241129_055802.jpgIMG_20241129_055752.jpgDave Watson's incredible work.
You can talk about worked lines...but how many people get to grow ten zillion plants to create a royal strain?
That's why I call this the Royal Skunk.

I am of the opinion that the best seeds are produced outdoors. The sk#1 seeds I made in 2003, because they were stored properly, and given a little warmth during germination, almost all of them popped in 48 hrs. 21 years old.
A couple of years ago I met a hotshot noob grower who was showing off his seeds collection and he didn't store it properly. I told him his seeds would be dead in 5 years. He didn't care. Why buy them?
Anyway, I am happy about my germination rates. The seeds actually still look good. The mom I made is a vigorous sativa grower, will be glad to cull her. Will be passing on cuts to Hydroculture in F-burg and hopefully can make a deal with them on sales to customers now that they can sell clones.
Tonight is a happy night seeing the germination. I put them in the towels to germinate on Thanksgiving. Thank you Dave Watson.

100% Germination after 21+ years.
I can only speculate on alot of the Watson skunk story...like when did it's popularity decrease to the point that he wasn't supplying seeds anymore and did that coincide with getting contracts with GW Pharmaceuticals and developing the Sativex. I wish I knew more about the kilo of seed he gave away. It's exact origin in his breeding program but I'm assuming it is from the medical research era.
This will always be the Royal Skunk to me. I was lucky to get it.

I got my first golf ball nuggets skunk nuggets in 1980 or 1981 from a guy named James " Jimmy Ludes" Nolan. He's dead now. He loved Skunk and Heineken.
I can't even emphasize enough how those frosty green nuggets changed the game. It was like living in a black and white world and everything turned to color.

I've given my cut away and others in RVA burned me for it. I've told some people who are big dogs in our pot world to keep these greedy noob motherf$#@ers from claiming my genetics as something they have somehow come up with. So if these people make seeds with my cut after burning me I might have to do some Bob Hemphill strangling on some motherf$#@ers.
