So that's what plant pics are supposed to look like. Those are really nice. I'll have to check them out later on my laptop so I can see them on an even bigger screen. They look great even on my phone. If my pics had that kind of detail you'd see nothing but dog hair I'm afraid. He seems to find his way into everything no matter how hard I try. I can't wait to see your trichomes in a couple weeks.

Morning shots, little bit of leaf burn on some tips and canoeing/tacoing...might have to dial the light back a little. I’ll let them go dry today and see what happens.FF0F41E4-D56E-4CAD-ACD8-7A3C65B35AE9.jpegE4DF2B22-447C-4A37-80C7-395F6C75FB84.jpeg8008D06F-894D-455B-B4E5-EF719B18194F.jpeg

this is a composite of 20 shots taken with a focusing rail. Adobe Photoshop analyzes each one and finds the portion that is in focus. The software then creates a composite image based on the individual in focus portions of each photograph. JFM.

Just saw these, they are amazing. The level of detail is just incredible. I can remember some purple buds I had that I would have loved to have had some pictures like that taken of. You should enter some bud pic of the month contests with that gear man. Or other photo contests, I bet you'd crush it. I'm so used to cell phone pics it's cool to see real camera shots taken from a rest.

Here are some morning shots before the lights come on...4 plants is manageable, but 3 would give a bit more room to breathe so big decision coming up for the next grow...

I think I’m only a couple weeks away from harvest; aim is for no clear trichomes, mostly cloudy with light sprinkling of amber. the buds are dense a hell, and hopefully they retain that thru the drying/curing process. the last run I put thru my dry/cure cabinet came out really well so I think that’s a winner and worth the investment. .

for S&G last night, I took 324 individual pictures of a bud with the focusing rail - I was twisting the adjustment screw in close to 1mm increments. that a took about an hour.

I then brought the pictures into Lightroom (20 minutes), and picked one that had a large in-focus area, and sharpened/adjusted lighting etc. then applied those adjustments to all the pictures (30 minutes). Exported them all as .jpegs (an hour). Stacked the .jpeg pictures in Photoshop (20 minutes). Aligned all the images (an hour). I then told Photoshop to create a composite image, using the in-foucus portion of the individual 324 shots. Set it up to do that around midnight and let it run overnight. Woke up this AM and it still was working on that.

being impatient, I stopped the whole process, grabbed 100 pictures from the middle of the 324 photo set and repeated the process. Still took an hour, but here is the result...not too bad.

I think 100 shots will be the sweet spot - will require some math to figure out how long the "focus throw" needs to be, but as a retired engineer that's okay. I do have a calculator, but I lost my slide rule along the way. The abacus is around here someplace just in case...

I put this on my list for Santa. A motorized focus rail, with a controller that automates the multiple picture taking process. Tell the controller how “deep” the image is (it’s depth of field), how many pictures ya want and press go. it incrementally moves the camera based on the parameters ya set, takes a photo, then moves incrementally again until the last picture is taken.

Santa’s list for me grows every day, but I was a pretty good boy last year, and didn’t get caught doin’ the naughty stuff.

I had no idea what was involved in getting such great pictures. I figured a really good tripod and a expensive camera with a remote firing method to keep it steady but damn that's crazy.

Man that's a lot of trichomes! Tell him or her nice job on the grow. It looks so frosty in that level of detail. Bet the terps are gonna be amazing on that strain.

Yep, he’s stopping by tomorrow to pick up some Terpinator just to kick them into high gear...all 4 of his plants look like this. Double grape is now on the rotation list...gotta score some more magic beans...

If that's not in high gear....damn. That's gonna be some awesome trim. Plus grape taste, yummy. I was on such a grape strain run for a long time I had to take a break. Blueberry, grape or any fruity indica strains are my all time favorites as far as terp profile but I need the heavy pain relief so the taste is secondary. I'm getting heavy skunk smells so far on stem rubs from the bubba trouble but not much odor from the flowers yet. It's still early so I'll see what they evolve into.

Yep, all four of his plants look like this. He has a 5 by 5 tent, and was able to squeeze a lemon tree in there too.

mine are packing on girth, and really filling out. I’ll pull them outta the enclosure tomorrow for some better pics, here they are an hour after lights out.

I’m all about catching every photon I can. took a piece of foam core, covered it in Mylar, and have it reflecting light to the lower buds on the front edge. it is wedged resting on the top of the pots, and I have it at around a 30 degree angle. The plant on the left has 3 bud sites that are a brilliant green and will be some awesome buds...

They're really getting some thickness to them! Can't wait to see what they end up as. I'm seeing some better light tolerance with mine as they didn't droop at all today even the one I moved 4" closer to the light. I'm guessing it's the beginning of peak bloom soon with some bulking up of the buds to come over the next several weeks hopefully. I should have about 5 weeks to go roughly. I wish I'd gone with a 5*5 tent the extra space would make such a huge difference. I'm going to replace mine with a 4*8 when the time comes just to have room to spread things out and not have to stress about training any of the plants to spread out. I'm getting ready to go watch the meteor shower tonight and enjoy some of my Bum Wine. Should be quite a show.
