this is a quick drawing i did up a while back of how i plant my seeds after they have a decent tap root showing in the paper towel. this prevent the seedling from having to exert excess energy pushing the seed pod through the soil.
put the tip down, thats why it is best to use two plates and cable box. 24 hours they are out and growing. i set em up at night then peak in the am then again at night so i can get them before the tap root grows in circles

i have had really good results this way every seed that sprouted a tap root grew good, i also pull the seed shell off if it does not shed itself after a day or 2 but i like to give it time to do it itself.
I checked them last night before i went to bed and they were barely cracking and then when I woke up they had germed I would say that the tap root was about a 1/4 inch though it was just growing in a circle though.
