Couldn't believe what I just watched on the evening news tonight. How dumb are people to do such a thing with covid doing what it is doing at the moment. Hardly a mask in site. How many people will get the virus from attending a fucking good bye party? Fuck stump!
From what I saw there were a lot of vulnerable older people there, not many masks and grey beards are a bad combo. Most of the patriots have very little reason to be on the streets right now, they had a liberation party and now it's wait for Joe. That's the way power works, you sit at the table of power and they hit the streets now and they will, as soon as you try to give any equality or try to form any sharing community where the brown folks might get some, even if they get it too, that would be socialism. It comes across as burn the house down rather than share it with your family, in this case it is the shining city on the hill they want to burn to the fucking ground.
There are several causes for America's troubles, mostly economic and social that cause a lot of unnecessary personal and social stress, this causes their antisocial conditioned propensities to rise to the fore affecting their moral judgement and perception of reality itself. Add to that this shit being reinforced by their own reality bubble of bullshit that they want to believe, they are easy prey for disinformation and false historical narratives. Confirmation bias is real, but on the patriot side it is diverse and professionally driven, is the BBC and CBC as well as ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, AP, the NYT and even the news part of foxnews (though they select and spin), all fake news? Are the tweets of a known liar with a database approaching 30,000 confirmed lies, really the only oracle of truth and reality?
Some of this is the effects of competition for resources as the 1% clean up all the economic gains and pay none of the taxes. Globalization, and automation are making human labor redundant at an alarming rate, that should be rising our quality of life and standard of living in lock step and is not and has not for decades. Now you have a republican party with elected officials who serve the rich's interest while riding on a wild elephant of racist morons who are growing more economically and socially desperate by the day. They want to block change for the rich, while conning the base with social emotional issues and blocking social progress to keep them happy. Some of them would starve to death willingly, if it just triggered the libs and some brown folks starved along with them.
When people are stressed they become assholes, in more ways than one, many Americans are unconsciously conditioned to believe the world should be a certain way by their life experience and media diet. When things don't turn out as they should and they begin living like a lot of the brown people they have been hearing about in the midst of the richest country in human history with a booming stock market, they look for answers. Trump and conspiracy theories offered simple explanations for their plight, it was the "others" fault, the blacks, the immigrants, the Chinese, the foreigner. The problem wasn't the policies or competence or even the ulterior motives of many, the problem wasn't greed, hate and corruption distorting the economic and political ecosystem, it was the others fault.
