it is really not the same, I can remember watching sunsets that can bring a tear to your eye, watching from the esplanade in Redondo beach. Standing there all alone and then looking around and there dozens of people doing the same thing. At least there are sun rises here![]()
Check out Flightdeck1.com. I'm in NorCal, been waiting to get to SoCal to do this. Looks cool.

Wasting a weekend in So. Cal.? Do what I used to... pack some weed and munchies, and hitch hike yer ass to Haight-Ashbury, find that kid, about 30 now, with the shrooms by the entrance to the park, right off Haight street, a lot of times he's over by the walking tunnel ... (not that asshole in the tie-dye with the dreads the one that's about 25 and keeps his shit in silly foil wraps inside foil wraps, inside his baggie with shroom, that's alcohol and food coloring on the blotter.)
Anyway, get there, drop 30 bucks, and you're golden.
You're in SoCal and you can't think of anything to do? amazing. What about booking a cabin at Mt. Baldy and getting a little reprieve from the heat? The drive to Santa Monica, Venice, etc. is not that far; people watching at Venice can't be beat.
I'd kill for a few days down there.I haven't been "outside" in a decade and change
If I was on SoCal I would go to the beach and watch the sunset. I moved to the east coast 20 years ago and that is the thing I miss the most. Hermosa pier, the light house bar, roller skateing on the strand. I could go on but you get the picture.
I grew up in the Mid-Lannic states ... and the two things I miss out here in 'Fornia are fireflies and thunderstorms.
ya fireflies
