TGA Subcool Vortex / TH Seeds A-train gro

hi! by flipped you mean went to 12/12? not tall at all. i'm going on memory here. i'm thinking 10" and i went to 12/12 around a month from seed. it's been in flower 3 and a half weeks weeks (depending on when "flower" starts.) mine is about 25" tall. i'm digging it because it's not all buried in huge fan leaves like the a-train. it's a skinny little tall plant. it's really stretching in the last week. seems like it's growing an inch a day. i was worried and came home for lunch and raised the light 6" since i didn't want to burn the top.

gotta say the a-train is looking good too. very robust but it seems like the vortex bud development has surpassed the a-train.

first pic is the big a-train main cola bud.

second pic is the other a-train. it's just a big ball of vegetative growth and i wonder if i should prune some of the density out of the middle?

3rd pic is all three with vortex front.

Yea hopefully your Vortex will start to smell like dog poo soon. That's when you know it's good. I had three different females of Vortex on my first run with them. As I mentioned before the #2 pheno was the most killer. It smelled the most like dog poo. #1 and #3 also smelled like poo but not as strong. #3 also has a minty/menthol smell and flavor to it. But they all have that dog poo smell which after chopping starts to smell more and more like hash as you cure it. Hard to imagine I'm sure... dog poo turning into a hash smell. But that's what happens with mine.
 
the buds are looking nice, i'm seeing the beginnings of some "white," the stems are nice and green, fan leaves are ok so far... 3 weeks or so to go.... i did my most heavy feeding tonight since both seem to be handling what i've given them so far OK. i'll back off on the nutes after this unless i see something odd happening. i've been totally lazy on monitoring PH this time and have just been using my RO filtered water.

so far so good, haven't screwed it up yet!

i'll get some a-train pix in here. the a-train looks great too - so far. (#5 is the vortex.)

it's weird because none of them stink at all, even after i water them.

Most people blame overnuting on ph. Everyone wants to bulk their plants up immediatly. They overfeed and overwater. Thats why there are so many unfinished grow journals. Cause their plants got fried and they dont wanna show it. Unless ur adding a absurd amount of shit to em. Theyll b fine..

She look familiar?? At day 24 now, this pic was from a few days ago. I do a lot of cloning and this one and Stretch seems to be a lot more prolific than the other two. Stretch won't make the cut.....she's around 42" or so. Was 10" when flowered. I never say never though. Even though I culled 6 little Stretchies the other day( needed the containers :), there's one camping out off to the side just in case lol

got home and checked the plants and the big light was off! i have a CAP HLC-1e high temp shut off switch i've been using for a month or so simply for peace of mind. i keep it set at 100 degrees. if the grow room goes over 100 degrees it will shut down the HPS. well anyway all the LEDs were out and when i hit the reset button nothing happened. removed it and the big light fired as it should have. grrrrrr......

sent them an email, we'll see what they have to say.

so my plants were in the dark except for the side lighting for 5 hours longer than usual today. i'm guessing they will be fine but i hate to fuck up the light cycle like this.

yes, i think my vortex is one of the stretchy phenos, not sure if she's the SUPER stretch tho! she seems to have slowed down a bit on the upward reach. she's the only one i got so i'm keeping her. if her upper stem fills out it will be a nice lookin bud.

ha ha ha...yes, i kept it at 100 just to avoid a fire in case the exhaust fan goes out. my temps don't go over 78 degrees. most of the time it's around 72. sometimes my night time dark temps are roughly 60 degrees. i hope that's not too big of a difference.

was just spending time with them. they are getting frosty and sticky! :leaf:

still not much smell at all. i guess that might be good.
 
here's my lights in my homebox XL tent.

the homebox was the best grow purchase i ever made.

pic one is my old reflector with a 5000k CFL and a in-line duct fan. i just turned that baby on about a week ago.
