THC Bomb Mothers in Flower.

Good info bro. How long have you been growing the bomb? Do you have the purple pheno? Thanks for the awesome journal.

These mothers will be my 3rd harvest of the THC Bomb. I haven't heard/seen a purple one. But, it is my understanding that all strains can go purple.

The large room will officially be in flower tomorrow night. I switched the bulbs out tonight so the girls are basking under the sodium bulbs. They have all reached a foot or better. The will recieve 15 hours of light tonight and go to 12/12 starting tomorrow.

I have left 12 of the White LSD un-topped, while the 12 next to them were all topped at identical nodes. The idea is to compare topped vs. un-topped yields in a grow with almost no variables in the experiment. The 8 White LSD and 1 G13 Haze in front of the screen were topped too with the exception of the previously mentioned White LSD which somehow topped itself naturally in it's early life.

The 3 THC Bombs under the scrog have completely saturated the screen space. They will be allowed to grow vertical now without pushing them through the screen at all during the early flower vertical explosion. In a sense making dozens of vertical single colas. I would call it a Scrog Sog if the technique doesn't have a name yet. I'm sure there is a different name for it, I just don't know it. It is my first attempt at this type of scrog grow; but, nothing teaches better than trial and error.

I noticed today something interesting: The THC Bomb has always shown sex through an incredible amount of pre-flowers through late veg. Yet, the White LSD has none at all, on any plant. Not a problem, just interesting. I think it is a testament to the sexual maturity of THC Bomb during veg. It may also be a sign as to why the Bomb seems to develop flowers/frost so quickly. Thought I'd throw that info in this journal.

Thanks for the info. I see on all the thc bomb pictures they show a purple flower. This is my first grow with them. How long do you let them flower for and how is the smoke?

I have yet to have any purple from this strain. The Bomb grows have always gone 9 1/2 weeks till chop day and these mothers are inline with that. The smoke is a deep couch lock stone. I smoke all the time and still get completely ripped up from sharing a blunt with my girl. She will not disappoint.

Hve you tried dipping the temps below 70 degrees. My girls tend to show some purple when the temps dip to 67 or so overnight. When your lights are off try to get your temps in the mid to upper sixties and you may start to see some purple. My strains are not purple strains and show when this happens.

That is why I bought the air conditioner. But, I haven't lowered the night temps yet because they weren't in flower. I will start that now.

Lower the temps in bloom, several weeks before harvest to get the purple effect. Too soon will slow the growth down, wait until the buds are fully developed and are just staking on your trichomes.

One of my bombs is showing purple leaves without temp change.

Wish mine would. It is hard to get an accurate look at them under the HPS light. I have a clip light with a cfl in it, yet haven't ever had the purple from something that wasn't suppose to be. I had some Grape Ape go almost a blackish violet with purple flairs.

how long is the typical flowering time on thc bomb ?

9 1/2 for the genetics I have. My moms will be at 8 weeks tomorrow. Just checked them and the resin glands are all clear.

The best way to get a good look at your plants is to take photo's of the plant in the dark with your camera's flash. Try it!

I've noticed that too, but sometimes the flash can make the resin look deceptively white from over-exposure. Multiple identical shots usually rewards me with a good pic or two.
