THC Bomb Mothers in Flower.

Thanks all.

I just bought a Macro camera lens that attaches to a smart phone's camera. A RIU member suggested it to me. 10 bucks on EBay and the thing looks awesome. We'll have some good pictures of the trichome development when it gets here. Also found an IR temperature gun for 15 bucks so I can more accurately rate the temperature changes with the soon to get here A.C. Got a kick ass drying rack and an aero-cloner on the way as well. It's the little things that make all the difference.

Essentially that's what I am doing now. But I prefer to have a mothers closet and fill my big room from them. I lost hundreds of clones off of these girls. I have read that it is harder to clone from feminized seed than it is from regular. Not sure if that has been proven anywhere though. Did your successful clones come from reg. or fem. seeds?

I am still juggling with the idea of different strains. I really like an even canopy though. I think if i have similar cloning problems from the White L.S.D that I will have to grow from seed and will likely choose a few different ones. Seeds are cheap compared to the outcome; but, I'd rather save a few hundred bucks a grow when I can. Have you had particularly great cloning success with others you can mention. I look for THC content and g/m2 of course.

It is no harder to take a clone of a fem seed...so far most of the strains I keep all started with a few seed and I take a clone and flower the mom, and then take a clone and flower the mom...over and over and over...has worked for years...just now starting to deal with reg seeds...and I like that better...I would rather just have a plethora of my own seeds as opposed to having to keep a strain alive by actually keeping an actual plant alive..so much easier to take care of a seed then a plant...anyway cloning isn't that hard...I usually use a cloner I made myself for around $30 and any clones I put in it root...then I keep only half of those clones...then I veg those clones and flower the plants they came from...if in between the times I am using my cloner I break a branch and dont want to just throw it away I will dip it in clonex and stick it in a solo cup- of wet soil...then I zip cup and all into a ziploc bag and set it in the bottom of the tent for a week...then I take the bag off and see how it goes...if the plant wilts over then i put the bag back on, but if it stands then we are done...and I transplant in a couple weeks or so...the cloner takes a week, the soil method takes at least 2 weeks...so I try to just use the cloner...

Thanks Missnu. I have never tried the aero-cloner. i am excited to get faster clonning result from it. I hope the THC Bomb will clone before my last 3 in veg flip.

I found everything real cheap on EBay last night. It's a nice temperature gun too. I spent more on the other thermometers I have and they aren't as accurate or able to pinpoint a locations heat.

I mentioned the lens for the camera, when does it arrive. Anxious to see how it works out. I forgot who I mentioned it to.

Things are looking awesome.

Yeah, ull love the areo cloner. People use cloning gel with this and i have no idea why, the shit washes off in about two seconds, and you will find that the cuttings want to root in a really mild nute solution, say 350 ppms. sometimes ill have to leave the clones in the cloner bucket for over a month because theres no room for um. Theres nothing like putting a plant with a 4 foot root system, in your tote all ready to rock! My THC bomb and Caramello seeds are on the way. I just have to wait for my Papaya, Blue Hash, Wonder Haze, Cole Train, Purps, Bigbud, an Dogshit to finish up. I have a modified "push Pull" system goin, so ill harvest half on the weekend and the rest around may 30. Rock on bro an grow that shit.

Interesting: 10 days ago, when I did the trim on the THC Bombs I put the cuttings into a glass of regular tap water and left the in the corner of a room. After all the failures with this strain I had a cutting with damn roots on it. Imagine that. All the professional techniques wouldn't do it, and my mom's old method for flowers works! I'll be dipped in shit! So, it is encouraging that the strain is clone-able. Dying to get the cloner so I can try it out with 6 lower branches on the THC Bombs in veg that will never reach the canopy. I'd like to end up with a strong mother from the THC Bomb, White L.S.D, and G13 Haze before they get far into flower.

Hi the TheDuder.

Sorry for jumping onto your thread.

I too am growing a THC Bomb, which is currently @60 days flowering. She's stinked up my grow room nicely and I am hoping to harvest her in a week or so.

The reason I jumped onto this thread is to comment that I had mixed success in cloning THC Bomb (from femanised). The first clone I took was when she was in vegetative stage. Cloned and planted into John Innes No.1 The clone did take in about 10 days but died after I transplanted her.

I then took two clones a couple of weeks when she was three weeks into flowering. Apparently, clones root faster when cut off a flowering mother but take an additional month to revert from flowering into vegetative. Although this period seems long it actually works in my favour as it gives me enough time complete one harvest whilst the clone settles.

I've had _GREAT_ success with this method when cloning an Industrial Plant. The clone took about 40 days to start vegetating proper... but once it started, I had TONNES of shoots (see images from Industrial Plant link to see crazy number of branches).

All the best with your grow and look forward to reading your results and opinions.

Cheers.

Interesting point. I have 2 lower branches that I almost always cut off in week 1 of flower. I am going to give them a try just after I flip the room. Waiting on the White L.S.Ds to get bigger. My THC Bombs in veg are getting crazy big. I am trying to think of a way to perhaps build a screen for just them to restrain their vertical growth for the next 3 weeks. Not sure that will be possible. I am also toying with the idea of just cutting them up and letting the stress and cuts restrain them. They are so beautiful though, it would kill me to do that. If anyone has any other ideas, I'm open to suggestions.

I've had the same exact issue with my THC Bomb. Initially I thought she'd be 50-60cm max. But she hit that in her third week of flowering. My solution was to start tying down the primary node with garden string until the node was horizontal (see pic, more pics here).

That worked for a while until lower branches starting shooting up as well.

Like you said, I wish I had a net that I could have placed at say 80cm and trained all branches under it. I'm certain it would have got better light if I did do that.

That is one thing I am planning if the clones succeed; let her bush out then train her under a net (like you have). I am tempted to prune the main node before she grows too tall... but not sure I'd want to do that as she seems top node heavy.

Again, all the best.

I plan to make them a screen over the weekend so They can finish the veg cycle short and keep from over shadowing the rest in flower.

They look amazing OldLuck! My mothers have slightly smaller buds than I am used to in this stage. No doubt my mothers were in need of transplant just before flower. I didn't, so they are no doubt root bound. I am curious how they will both yield. Your buds look like my normal Bombs in flower do. Throw an update of the Bombs on here every now and again. I imagine people that want to grow the strain can find much helpful knowledge here that I was unable to track down before I grew the strain. Is the second pic your main cola, or did you top and all your buds look the same?
