Those look great CV. I'm on day 35 and don't even see flowers yet but only preflowers still. Sucks. I think I stressed them out somehow.

Nice plant cerebralvibrator... Very impressive... Well ive decided to take new direction with all my growing... the 12\12 is definitely for me, but alas my household is an energy efficient household and the HPS doesnt have an energy star anywhere on it.
Im going to be using CFLs and a smaller growing area. So before i completely finish the crop i am currently on and start my new venture i was just wondering if i could get some suggestions from the pros. things i am wondering about include

what size pots
mixing of light spectrum or straight 2700K
transplanting-neccessary or not
nutes- what kind (though i would find it hard to let go of the Jacks african violet food (flowering)) maybe an add-in
any other suggestions or tips would be helpful

I've got one plant thats half way through flower, soil, and I'd like to start my hydroponic build. I'm so impatient I can't wait till the soil plant is done flowering. Think I should go ahead and start the hydro at 12/12 with the soil plant finishing, or should I just wait a month and grow the hydro a couple weeks vegged.

for pots, im using 3" 6" then 10", theres some good reasons to transplant but its not a requirement.
for lights, i use the HPS from the start, little 250w puts out a lot of light for little watts and a lot more than 250w of CFL will. CFLs can work good too tho.
for nutes, im just using a cheap local brand, Manutec, theyre cheap theyve got a good selection and are easy to get local. use what you can get, itll all work but some will work better. add extra PK in flowering, something like GH koolbloom or Canna pk13/14 type stuff to improve bud growth, again not a requirement but it helps. i also like to add a little epsom salts every feeding for extra Mg, mj uses a bit more Mg than what some generic type nutes provide. see label for details.
tip, Dont overwater! learn the weight of your pots.

It is never too late to transplant I don't believe if it is for the right reasons, meaning there is a good reason you are doing it.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I agree with bluetick. If its done correctly, there is no stress to a plant in transplanting, even in mid flowering and I have done it many times before. Use your existing pot to create the hole by filling in around it, then remove it, slide her out gently and straight into the new 'hole'.

Hey guys I was wondering what would be the best time to take clones from a 12/12 from seed grow, I know there will be a relapse with the plant due to lighting but I was just curious as to when most people take their cuttings at a certain height or time, if at all from 12/12 plants.

Purple Ladies are just starting week 4 (1 week in cloner, no veg), half way there.

Good question :-)

I take my cuttings as soon as I can see a viable 2"/3" cut from those lowest branches. Its harder with 12/12 from seed to get good cuttings but I find that I can generally get one or two good strong cuts before things are too far into flower. But it would not matter, they would still root even taken later but as you say its quicker and easier to revert them if taken ASAP.

So yes, you most certainly can take cuttings from a 12/12 grow, I always think of the pre flowering period as being essentially a 'veg' period, even under a 12/12 cycle from germination.

Hope this helps.

My 12/12 girls have all been outdoors enjoying a full days sunshine today :-) I always raise them off the ground and keep them clear of other plants, never had a problem. Its so good to sit and watch them glistening like diamonds :-)

The larger ladies are at day 54 today, plenty of time to go yet. The larger of the smaller plants (!!) is Bubba O Kush and the smallest is a Northern Lights clone cut from the plant at the back and just into 12/12. I normally only grow 12/12 fem seedplants but this looked a vigorous cutting.

The only thing I can say that I dislike about the 12/12 from seed is the % of M to F. Before now I had never grown a male. I think I had rather take cuttings and do it that way. Not really so concerned with the 'FROM SEED' image.... as I am getting all girls. Seem to spend too much time watering and giving the males nutrients. Will be all clones next time.

But I dont NEED any more weed :-) I'm in my fifties now and been doing this a long time, I'm happy with what I produce and isnt that what this hobby is all about?

But I do appreciate your advice, I know you are trying to help :-)

Btw, they have another 3 weeks to go yet!

It is a no win situation. If you had a 6x6 pot then someone would come along and say put them into an 8x8 pot. :cuss:
