how is the addition of cfl's working for you?
my girls are under a 430 hps, and about 30 days on 12/12.
would some addtional cfl's be a help?
this is only my 2nd grow, and any help/advice would b a great benefit.

Hi Folks,
I'm new to the forum and new to growing in general, I have only grown an Autoflowering plant before which yielded 1¼oz dry using a 200w C.F.L, but currently have 2 Top 44's (Seedsman) which are coming up to 5 weeks of 12/12 flowering.
I have recently started my next crop which is a 12/12 from seed grow, I am growing 3x Big Bang (Greenhouse - Fems) and an Hash Passion (Seedsman - Reg). All were planted into 5½L pots, they are currently 3 days old, one is quite retarded and small the others are looking nice and green and are about 2" high already.
As this is my first 12/12 grow I am doing it as an experiment as yield isn't that important but quality is. I hope you will enjoy the progress of my babies.

I am 8 weeks into 12/12 , my pump dies on my system for a few hours and the plants wilt. I bring them back and all is well. Bud production stalls and then I find A POLLEN SAC THAT HAS BUSTED ON A FEMALE PLANT!!!!!!!!!!!! Has anyone know of plants to switch to male 6-7 weeks into thier cycle?? its only on one side of the plant. the rest of the plant is good to go.
I know this isnt the place to post the question, but you guys have helped me in the past...kiss-ass

I believe what has happened is your plant turned hermie, not male. If you had female flowers and then noticed a pollen sac opened up then it is a hermie for sure. Many things can cause this to happen like light leaks from other places for example or a drastic change in your room set up there. Sometimes it will only produce a few pollen sacs and you can look for them and find them early on and pick them off if you are sure not to bust them open.
Maybe some others can give you some more advice but that is what I know to be true.

At 8 weeks into 12/12 you have little to worry about
Its really not that unusual to find a few odd seeds lowdown anyway, the reproductive instinct (self pollination) is very strong, but at that late stage they're never going to develop fully .Are they feminised seeds? Just asking because with many fems it happens anyway. As said by bluetick, pick them off if you see any more, but I honeslty wouldnt be too worried.

OK, here are my babies. All are 12/12 since seed. I mean since they popped their heads out of the ground, no veg at all.
Pic. 1 is Tiaga by Dutch Passion - 78cm tall. Bio Bloom/Top Max. Day 56

I got 6 very small seeds and tried germinating - it was a complete gamble as they looked to immature. All 6 came up! Out of 6, 2 males. Still very happy. - She is day 27, 47cm tall! Just water and some Superthrive. All 4 are the same size.

I have some questions;
I see many bushy plants from people doing 12/12, is this from seed? Mine seem to grow straight up with few side branches. I have never topped but was reluctant to top on 12/12, you are supposed to top when vegging.
Any particular strains to recommend 12/12 with? I heard White Rhino from Greenhouse Seeds. Any to avoid. I use Greenhouse or Dutch Passion seed banks.

They sure are pretty I'll say that much. I love that yellowish green color in flowers. What kind of light are you using and how far above the plants do you keep them? That might explain the stretch you are having. Mine are bushy bushy but I am also using a 1000hps about 18" above the tops of them.
I think you can top them if you want. Some prefer to just let them go like Randy Rocket and CV will do an LST with two per pot. I topped two or three of mine just to see what difference will take place.

I use a 400W HID with a Diamond Reflector. Problem is I burnt the tops of one of my plants when it wasnt that close. I did the hand test and it felt fine. I am more cautious now and keep the light a bit further away. Funnily enough it burnt the tops in their first week of flowering and almost killed the new flowering tops. I was worried. But the burnt tops burst into 5 seperate bud sites. Its the thickest cola I have seen!
They are in a large BudBox tent - its a perfect growing environment.
I would like to know how people grow bushy plants using 12/12? I have only ever grown from seed, not cloned yet.
Any tips would be most welcome.

LST is the answer! Even with 12/12 from seed grows you can do it. Keep on pulling the tops down, right into mid flowering to spread the budsights as you would with a screen (scrog).
Heres a shot of a 12/12 grown plant using lots of LST to stop that stretching
Hope this helps, dont be afraid to tie them down!!

You will see those buds begin to form now! By week 4 flowering you will have formed buds that will then gradually 'swell' as more and more pistils are thrown out. Just another week and you will see a big difference Week 4 onwards is the best part though as growth is visible daily!Good luck with her.

I was wondering what size pot or containers you think i should use and how many plants i should grow. I will obvioulsy be using soil. Also i was wondering how many watts of cfl's you think i should use. I have to use cfls as i am doing a stealth grow where heat will be an issue unless i use cfls as opposed to an hps. The strains i have so far are Greenhouse seeds Himalayan Gold fem, Barney's farm Blue Cheese fem, and g13 NLxskunk fem. Any help will be much appreciated.

Also this may be a stupid question, but i see how a lot of strains using 12/12 are taking longer than what i normally thought they would. Example, say you are flowering a 7-9 week strain, is this strain going to be done in 7-9 weeks or since you aren't vegging it at all is it going to take longer? I know this is probably a really stupid question, but i went through this entire thread and it seems as though no one has finished in say 56 to 63 days.. they all seem to be finishing around 11 weeks or so... if anyone has an examples of finishing in less than that i would love to see them. I was hoping to do 12/12 to conserve my space and have a faster turn around on harvest. thanks again
