Have a question for you all .. looking at getting 12 240w Kingbrite boards. Saw a few people talking about running them 6 inches apart and running them softer like 150 watts each ...is that a good suggestion ? I’m trying to maximize these boards and get the highest grams per watt possible. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated !!!!
The softer you drive your leds the closer you can keep them to the plants, and the less losses you have to light hitting the walls. 6 inches apart at 150 might be too much light though if you have them that tight.
Whats the size of your space? Are you only after grams per watt or are the totals also important? Generally with leds as your grams per watt go up your total yield goes down. Its easy to do 2g/w with only 100w per tray, all you have to get is 200g but if you want pounds and pounds per tray you need more power and get diminishing returns.
Check out some strip builds and maybe fotops
Spread, low hanging height os your friend.
Also remember to have a plan on how to keep you grow space +80F, a lot of power goes into this.
