Nothing pisses you off more than when trolling, say lake Shasta as an example, this time of the year where the thermocline is around 80ish feet down. You’re stacking clips(two per downrigger), you get down to 100’ OTB, and a god damn bass had took one of the lures on the way down :-(
80 feet is ALOT of bass zone to contend with lmao

I caught one at 60' at Bullards Bar. Supposed to be some big spots there, saw a pic of one recently.

I know. I'm in the Fairfield area. I can launch from Belden landing in grizzly and be in bass Territory in 12 minutes. I just meet buddies in those areas and do mini tourneys lol
Yeah i’ve never even wanted to go out towards you for black bass. Stripers and sturgeon baby! Rio vista(had my 23’ trophy in a slip at Vierras), down to the fleet were my regular fishing grounds. Up in Cache too though.
Had a 1800 Lund fisherman in my garage. I’d usually haul that thing to pitsburg or antioch amd launch. Those are my old grounds fo sho

Of course the stripers and Sturgeon are the huge thing over here however following the bend around Montezuma slough brings you into less brackish waters.

Shit the Marina in suisun has largemouth all over the place. It's only a matter of time before we end up with Hybrids.
