The fishing thread ( not about fish fertilizer)

I get it on both your sides. For me without fishing I become very mentally locked up. I need to fish at least once a week. It's legitimate therapy for me.
I hear that man. It's the moment I dont have to think about anything, just be in that moment focusing on my spoon, visualizing how its moving in the water from the feel on my rod, the line and into my reel. Nothing else matters
Then that freight train smash.... your line tightens, rod bends.... your eyes widen, heart pounds, bloods now flowing...adrenalines going on 10/10. Suddenly you've forgotten you've been awake for 30hrs straight standing on a pier. Lol
Some people wake up and goto the gym before work, me? I wake up at 3am and walk down a pier to wash spoons to start my day.
The tug is the drug...... ;)

Some salmon fishing is looking promising with this spell of rain.

The local river is up 65cm above summer level if we can get enough rain to sustain that or more for two days there should be salmon

I'm hoping for a good run they haven't had any opportunity this season, that said I'd settle for one lol.

I told my wife there is something so seren about fishing as well as adrenaline pumping for moments in between serenity. It's wonderful.

My wife doesn't understand why I would want my serenity broken.

Unbroken serenity sounds a ton like boredom to me :D

Give me a joint then relaxation then give me a fight Then give me 5 more casts and then give me another joint.

Right back to relaxed I go

I always explain muskie fishing to people as long grueling durations of time grinding it out, pain, grief.... and then a brief moment of absolute pure joy that's unexplainable.

I've knackered my phone so I'm looking at old pics on another phone while waiting for the river level update.

A memorable day with 3 salmon landed and 2 lost, but lost after I'd had a bit fun with them (it only feels half as bad ;-) ) its my best days salmon fishing to date.

Hooray!!!
We got enough rain in my area to raise the river and let salmon run.

The river has been up and down like a yo-yo but all in enough flow to let salmon run.

I fished last night until darkness but I didn't catch any salmon, i turned 4 trout but they didn't hook up, 3 felt that vague knock that you know it's connected and the chances are it won't take again, the 4th was a good heavy knock then nothing, I'd fish for about 2 hours and got nothing then went through a 10 minute spell with trout taking that re invigorated my enthusiasm so fished back down the beat but caught nothing.

This evening i was more optimistic after a good flow on the river all night long, it was a bit on the high side of the fishable window and falling (perfect) again i fished into the darkness again i didn't catch any salmon, I'm optimistic about tomorrow I'll be on it for daylight.

I fished until darkness again, I'm fairly certain I just need some more perseverance and I'll pick up a salmon.

No salmon but the knocks from trout keep me hopped up on adrenaline lol, briefly i don't wtf has hit me it's great!

I had 4 nice trout and a few other hits from small trout.

I did try to photograph the others, 3 times i unhooked fish in the net and got my camera ready then the trout shot out of my hand before I could take a photo, the above is bonnie fish i wasn't getting caught out again so I unhooked it on the banking instead of in the water.
