good idea and it can be done - but i doubt it is trivial to set something like this up. most likely would require customizing the code which introduces the possibility of security and other problems (any code changes can have great unforeseen negative repercussions). i would guess RIU would just create guidelines and ban users who don't follow them. it would be a lot easier at least as far as website maintenance is concerned.

But then you get into judgement calls about guidelines and who needs that? I don't know much about web page design, but I look at a lot of em. There's also a way to only display things when you mouseover them. . . .

personally i don't care what people use as avatars but the guidelines could be very clear-cut. as in: no genitalia. no intercourse or implied intercourse, etc.. infractions would be one or two warnings and then banning (or whatever RIU/mods decide). No arguments, the mods would decide and if we don't like it, tough.
I do know a little something about web design and believe the ability to "turn off" avatar displays would require more than mouseover events on a page which is why i said what i did. But i could be wrong - i often am.

Porn... No... I agree with FDD i can go to any numerous porn sites to see triple penetration... I REally do not need it in my face while i am trying to read a post about GROWING CANNABIS... =O
