Things I hate about Christmas

“And how did little Tim behave?” asked Mrs Cratchit, when she had rallied Bob on his credulity and Bob had hugged his daughter to his heart’s content. “As good as gold,” said Bob, “and better. Somehow he gets thoughtful, sitting by himself so much, and thinks the strangest things you ever heard. He told me, coming home, that he hoped the people saw him in the church, because he was a cripple, and it might be pleasant to them to remember upon Christmas Day, who made lame beggars walk, and blind men see.”
― Charles Dickens, "A Christmas Carol" (1843)

"Fang is the cheapest man alive. On Christmas Eve, he puts the kids to bed, fires one shot, and tells them Santa has committed suicide."
―Phyllis Diller, "Like a Lampshade in a Whorehouse" (2001)

I don't like the fact that at Christmas time everyone acts like the world is coming to an end. People run to all the stores and pick out presents, they're ready to sweep away everything on the shelves. They're willing to overpay for it at crazy prices. Even in my beloved Taimi app, people are acting weird. Because of the hustle and bustle, not everyone is even willing to have any communication at all. Everyone wants to spend these days with their nearest and dearest, and unfortunately I don't have any.

I got 8 pairs of similar, yet different colored pairs of socks.
It's been hell all year trying to match pairs....worst gift ever!
Every day sorting socks, I wonder what I did to deserve this...
At one point in my life I had all the same kind of socks. It was pure bliss not having to worry about matching. But since I now wear Crocs, I only worry about finding two socks without holes. Color is not so important.

What the hell is wrong with people? I thought Christmas was supposed to be a joyous time but by the way people are behaving it's anything but. Complete chaos with people in a state of panic. Things would be so much better if people would just behave in a sane orderly manner. Unfortunately half or more of the population goes insane around Christmas. I dread just a simple trip to the store. I can't wait for this madness to be over.
