Are you seeing amber on the sugar leaves or on the actual bud ? 10 weeks is Longer than most strains. What strain you have there ? looks ready to me fro, the information given so far.

Im checking trichromes on the calyxs.

I’d say the first plant looks about done. And the second plant definitely has at least 3-4 weeks to finish properly.

10 weeks is not long at all, especially if the person is counting from when they switched to 12/12, Instead of when the plant actually started to flower.

There are waaaay more plants out there that take 9-11weeks of actual flower time then there are that finish in 8 weeks. If you are counting time from when you are switching your lights then you can figure on 1-3 weeks longer.

Is it normal for some sativa strains to continue flowering? The 2nd plant if it’s 3-4 weeks that would take it into week 13-14!

Well that will have you the most intune with the biology of the plant. Sativas definitely can take much longer then indicas. I’ve had one that took 14-16 weeks of actual flower time. They eneddd up being awesome though and people asked me for more years after.

I figured I’d share this with you too:

The signs of ripeness are pretty standard in cannabis plants. After growing 1k + plants from multiple varietals it’s clear how the maturation process takes place.

First a few of the pistils begin turning color and start receding. Your plant is just starting to ripen. Depending on the strain you could still have two months to go. We're just starting this journey.

Two to four weeks later you'll notice that most of the pistils(>80%) have now changed color and curled back into the bud. It's frosty, way bigger than it was a few weeks ago, and smells dank! It's time, right? Not a chance killer. Patience is a virtue

Over the next 2-3 weeks it doesn't look much different, maybe a little more swelling in the calyxes, and the rest of the pistils change over, but the stems ars starting to bend under the weight of the buds. These ladies are putting on weight and now the buds are doing their final ripening.

Now you begin looking at trichomes, on the calyx not leaves, and harvest according to your preference. When looking at trichomes it’s essential to look at them from the side. The bulbous heads can magnify the opaque stalk under it. Looking from the side allows you to more accurately see the condition of the resin in the trichome head.

There is still no rush to harvest, the window just opened, and you have several weeks before you MIGHT start having to think about it possibly beginning to get too ripe. It takes WEEKS for plants to mature not days.

It is very to harvest a plant to early. It is very hard to harvest a plant to late. I’ve never seen someone accidentally wait too long.

thank you so much for sharing this with me. I will harvest the first one but will keep the 2nd strain. Good to know on Indicas possibly having longer flowering time.Your insight has been valuable to me! :)

Sativas usually have longer times.

Breeder specifications were 6-7 weeks so I was thinking something was going wrong. The strain is power Africa FAST

Tcat rules imo.

Fast strains do flower fast, but they are not really DONE earlier. They can be harvested earlier because they change faster, but maturity is still 9-12 weeks depending. FAST is like the second level of advertising BS from seed vendors.

They already lie and say its an 8 week strain! 7 weeks! 6! Now they have FAST strains where they try to find the ones that ripen faster. They dont ime.
