really this is nothing too....some people get all internet toughguy and start talking about ass whoopins and whatnot. im just trying to help everyone grow better weed by stopping the flood of misinformation.

you can lead a grower to water...but you cant make them think.

Slik knows whats hes talking about dude. I read the entire thread and i dont really see why u should be throwing a fit for. Slik has even helped me in a thread or two, and he also doesnt get 4thousand and some posts and not know what the fuck is up. Your logic i see about cutting fan leaves but its a bad thing to do regardless. Everybody chill smoke some bud and keep growing:peace:
 
u guys mustthink im going crazy cutting away i simpley cut 3 or 4 fan leaves that were dying anyways they where coveringthe bud site and by doing so the inside ofthe plant can groww bigger buds thats y urlower buds arent very big no lite how canu say that is bad they r bushy as fuck dude and i want the inner buds to get just asbig as the 1s getting direct sunlight both growers who showedme the ropes a couple yrs ago both do it andthey get 2 to 3 lbs a plant

by removing the upper leaves to grow the lower buds your taking away from the upper buds mojo. sure your geting better lower buds but its at the cost of your higher buds. worried about popcorn buds? then cut off any lower new growth tips so the plain old dont grow. then all the lower bud mojo gets redirected to the upper buds and you get massive upper buds.
 
this is so retarded . . . . . . fan leaves = energy input. without energy input, you can't have buds.

trichomes form to block UV rays and damaging sunlight, they're certainly not going to be even CLOSE to as efficient at taking in sunlight as a chlorophyll filled sunleaf.
 
I see the guys point. We all know that the reason why lower buds are small is because of lack of sunlight. Easy enough and we all get that...

He is simply reasoning that if this is the case then cut some leaves to get the light where there is none.

But even though it seems rational, it is bad because you are removing food production.

"Flowers do not grow flowers"....that should've been the show stopper.
 
i didnt have any problems last yr all the branchs where big as baseball bats the top cola was the biggestive ever seen so not sure whereu all r gettin ur info but im gonna do what i do produce big fat stinkin chronic
 
i agree with rob (not his attitude) about trimming a few fan leaves is not going to reduce yield or smoke popcorn and all those evil things you people said. 9/10 times i'll trim some fan leaves to reach certain budsites. but rob, you could also cut off the lower branches and that would make more plant energy going to those top colas... just a thought. good luck

so tell me, what was the point of this thread if you already know despite the fact that most of the advise your getting points in the other direction?

i bet if you cut off all the fan leaves then the plant wont have any choice but to grow huge louisville slugger buds.:hump:dont forget to piss on them and put that rusty nail through the stem.:roll:

Removing fan leaves is about as productive as removing punctuation and proper spelling.
 
i feel like ive regressed in my growing knowledge a full several years after reading through mr. rob's bullheaded bullsh!t, its one thing to start a thread about something minor as this, its entirely different to start this thread and wait in ambush for any and everyone who has anything to say that may not directly coincide with your previous ideology, this entire site is devoted to the education of current and future growers and tokers, if nothing else rob, just shut the hell up and if u dont like a single thing thats said....DONT EVER COME BACK TO THIS THREAD, no one wasted their time typing a comment thinking "ill show this guy" before you were the first to take up the offensive, but now that you mention all these superherogrows, i would have to say i recommend trimming all the fan leaves except those growing directly out of your bud sites, alllll of them....u have a theory you seem confident with, take it to the limit..

i did cut the first set of branchs off andi cant wait to post sum pics and prove allu no it alls wrong and what the hell u talkin about cutting all thefanleavesoff i like big fat buds everywhere and thats what i get while ur shit sits in the shade. shade = bad growth, sun = fat buds u do the math ifu gotta cut a couple fan leaves so more fans can get the sun that the 1 was getting
 
you could try tying the fan leaves down, and sharing the space between them. if i was a plant, i wouldnt want to have my testicles(fan leaves) cut off while i was having an orgasm(flowering).
