Trump To Turn Himself In

The narrative makes sense though. It was a group of some shitty people and some regular ones. The group moved further towards being shitty, pushing out the regulars. It makes for a more homogenous group that has coalesced around being shitty, so within that population segment the worst person will win. However, the prize for competition they won was to go on to the next level where it isn't a self selected group of garbage.

While I do expect a bunch of republicans to go running back as soon as they dump trump, the party isn't the same as pre 2016 and I don't think they can go back. They tacked hard to push out the moderates, and there has been zero indication besides some "why did we lose" post mortems that they are going to change course. MTG has more sway than Mitch with the direction they are going. You saw it in the fox news text leaks as well, the crazies have enough sway that they are driving the car and will push out anyone that doesn't go along.
not disagreeing that the poll tells us who is most popular right now, just saying a lot will go down between now and the primaries next year.

Predicting the future is hard.

That said, I wouldn't bet against Trump in the primaries next year.

you cant catch me I'm the ginger haired man
lol, I totally agree. The tale ends with a fox catching and eating the gingerbread man who cries as he is devoured, "I'm quarter gone... I'm half gone... I'm three-quarters gone... I'm all gone!"

Who is the fox in this story? Surely not the news one. Maybe this guy?

We are more than a year away from a trial, assuming there is an indictment.
I think we are a lot closer to convictions, not just indictments in some cases, NY will be more complex than the federal documents and obstruction cases and depending on how they procced, J6 will be the most complicated and longest of all. Unless Donald moderates his behavior and tones down the threats, he could end up in jail upon indictment and pending trial, it will also make appeals interesting.

Here is the problem with the gilded cage home arrest theory, if Donald acts up in court and refuses to obey the judge and tells them to fuck off, he won't be going back to Mar A Largo under house arrest for contempt, he will be going to the DC or NY jail and will make future appearances in orange. The SS will have to adapt to the situation and ask for an unlocked cell next door.

Donald Trump THREATENS NY DA Alvin Bragg in violation of NY state law; additional charges likely?

22,668 views Mar 25, 2023 #TeamJustice
Former President Donald Trump threatened New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg, as Bragg investigates and prepares to indict Trump for his earlier New York crimes. Specifically, Trump indicates there will be "death and destruction" if Bragg indicts hims. Then, Trump commits a second crime by posting a picture of himself, holding a baseball bat, mid-swing, next to a picture DA Bragg whose hand is upraised as if in a defensive posture.

This conduct by Trump violates New York penal law section 195.05, obstructing governmental administration in the second degree:
"a person is guilty of obstructing governmental administration in the second degree when that person intentionally . . . attempts to prevent a public servant from performing an official function, by means of intimidation or interference . . . "

When the NY grand jury reconvenes on Monday, they should be presented this evidence of Trump's threats and add two additional charges to the indictment of Donald Trump - one for the "death and destruction" post and one for the baseball bat post. Because justice matters.

It took 18 months after the indictment to try Weisselberg, Trump inc CFO

That's not the same as the documents and obstruction cases out of Florida, the NY case is really small potatoes in comparison, and it will take time for sure. However, if Donald keeps mouthing off and making threats Taco Joe could have trouble springing him on bail upon arraignment for a plea. The SS would not be pleased with a field office on Rikers Island!
