Heya bro, I have read a few bad things about MG products. Theres a post in the Newb section that states MG stuff is high in PH and not the best choice by Widow Maker. https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/937-how-grow-marijuana.html

Seems that Widow has been doin this for awhile now and he has it down to an art. I myself am following his advice as closely as I can with a lil advice from other Vet growers. Here is the part of the post if ya don't want to read the entire thing:

Some people swear by soil and soil less mediums. If you decide to go this route make sure you get some quality soil. I have been using miracle grow potting soil with pretty good results. EDIT: Now that I got a soil ph meter I am seeing that my miricle grow soil was a bad idea. I got some scotts soil and its ph is closer to nutral. Just make sure it drains water well. you can add sand or perlite to make the soil more drain-able and airated. Once you get past the cups you will want to transplant into bigger pots. A good rule of thumb is for every foot of growth you will want 1 gallon of pot space.

I hope the info is of help to ya man and Best of Luck!!bongsmilie

Miracle Gro rules they are friggin jealous. get the non organic potting mix and use just water for 1st 2 months. Geez its so friggin simple and they always come out big and lush with no leaves dyin on ya. Why do you think every store sells Miracle gro. Its proven to work. Shit even kroger has small bags of Miracle gro lol.

Miracle Gro drains really well. I watered every few days with no problems, If its a 5 gallon bucket every 4 or 5 days, soak really well.

Sure it works from what ive heard and ive seen some growers on here with amazing results using MG. Ive seen people say you should use the moisture control instead of the other kinds due to PH problems more then others. MG will grow you very nice and lush plants but many growers find it hard because they have no control over the amount of nutrients released to the plant because MG uses time release nutes. They release over time when you water them, also making flushing with mg near impossible. -All from what ive read. :-o

I'm using MG potting soil in my first grow with 8 plants. It burned the bottom leaves on most (classic brown-spot N burns), and 3 plants went into overnute shock (leaves curled down like a claw). I transplanted two of the shocked ones into a very basic no-nutrition potting soil, and left one in the MG to see who, if any of the 3, would recover. One in the no-nute soil looks like it will make it, the other looks a goner. The one remaining in the MG just started to look hopeful today.

I tested pH on the MG several times -- came out 6.8 to 7.0 consistently.

But, the 5 that worked their way cleanly through the initial burn look great and are bulking up every day. I'm probably going to go Foxfarm Ocean Forest next time around, but I might do a couple with a MG mix cut down 70/30 with perlite and an inert mineral soil just for fun. I'm just a Noob, but I've been gardening everything else all my life, and it looked to me that overall, the MG was just a little hot -- cut down a bit, it would be perfect (and at $5 a bag instead of $25 for Foxfarm, a helluva lot more economical).

The best Miracle Grow I use is the, houseplantfood liquid MG,to keep the ph balanced just add garden lime to the potting mix.

Yea it seems that the plants i used it on, My primary 3 in my journal right now are doing the best of all. Great drainage and moisture retention. Had no added nutrients.

i see so far in my tests, mg mc is best mixed with something, i used just regular dirt from the ground, like 70-30 mg/soil mix 1st time, great results.. i used all mg this time. 2 of my sativas got damaged a little from the pure MG. i will mix next grow, but its cheap and it work, i will try 70MG/15Perlite/15 PLAIN DIRT next time

Yeah idk bout using the dirt from outside.
All kinds of problems associated with that
for me anyway. If you find the MG MC is
too hot id just cut it with a fair amount of
perlite, like 70/30 (soil/perlite) or 60/40.
Only difference would be you would have to
water one more frequently than the other
but then the MC helps on that a little.
And the neutral ph of the perlite balances
the MG nicely.

I just wanted to say that I can taste the MG when people use it. Maybe they did not flush or what ever, but I for sure can taste it.
