Ukraine Defense Ministry asks for ‘ammunition, not advice’ in new video
The Ukraine Defense Ministry asked for “ammunition, not advice” in a new video Thursday, following recent criticism from U.S. officials over Kyiv’s strategy amid a slow-moving counteroffensive.

“It seems like everyone is now an expert on Ukrainian warfare,” the Defense Ministry wrote in a video posted to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

“While we appreciate all the attention, we’d like to humbly remind you that if we listened to what non-Ukrainians said in February 2022, we would no longer exist,” it added. “Thanks all the same. But we need ammunition, not advice.”

U.S. officials have argued recently that Ukrainian troops and resources are misallocated, spread thin between fronts in both the east and the south. They have instead urged Kyiv to focus on driving south toward Melitopol, according to The New York Times.

The American push to shift strategies and see substantial results from the latest counteroffensive comes as political support for aid to Ukraine is waning, and the Biden administration is nearing the limit of available Congress-approved funds for the effort.

The White House announced another $250 million security package for Kyiv on Tuesday, bringing total U.S. assistance since the beginning of the war to more than $43 billion.
However, retired Army Gen. Jack Keane suggested in a recent Wall Street Journal op-ed that American advice to focus on a drive toward Melitopol amounts to “military malpractice” and urged U.S. officials to concentrate on assisting Ukraine instead.

“The U.S. should be focused on helping Ukraine fight the war the way it wants to fight, not chirping from the sidelines,” Keane wrote.

And they will ask Ukraine to file a flight plan to Orel?

Sobyanin: an airport is being set up in Orel to intercept drones flying to Moscow
On the territory of the city of Orel, an airport is being set up to intercept enemy drones aimed at Moscow. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

“In Orel, they had not yet completed the arrangement of the airport for interceptors, as one of the helicopters shot down a drone that was flying towards Moscow,” said Sergei Sobyanin, RIA Novosti writes. According to him, the RF Ministry of Defense turned to the Moscow authorities with the question of reorganizing the air defense positions.

Earlier it was reported about a mass attack on Russia by Ukrainian drones. In total, seven regions of the country were hit.

General of the US Armed Forces Hodges called for the destruction of the Crimean bridge and the isolation of the peninsula
The Crimean bridge must be destroyed, and the peninsula of the same name must be isolated. This call was made by American General Ben Hodges in an interview.

“As soon as the Crimean bridge is destroyed, this will change the rules of the game for Crimea. […] It’s about isolating Crimea and then transferring long-range weapons to make Crimea unusable for the Russian navy and Russian air force,” Hodges said in an interview with the magazine Newsweek .

Kiev's last attempt to attack the Crimean Bridge occurred on 17 July. Then two civilians were killed. Ukraine has been threatening to blow up the Crimean bridge since the summer of 2022. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the attacks on the Crimean bridge senseless, since the object is not used for military transportation. Protective floating barriers have been placed around the Crimean Bridge in order to secure it from attacks.

The Pentagon will purchase AMRAAM missiles as part of the budget for assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces
The United States will purchase AMRAAM medium-range air-to-air missiles as part of assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The supplier will be the American company Raytheon, the Pentagon said.

“Raytheon Missiles and Defense has been awarded a $192 million contract to procure medium-range air-to-air missiles (AMRAAM). It will be paid from the budget for military assistance to Ukraine,” websiteUS Department of Defense.

The contract must be completed by the end of November 2024. The money for the purchase will be allocated as part of the budget for assistance to Ukraine, approved for 2023.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken previously announced that Ukraine would receive a new $250 million military aid package. It will include air defense equipment, ammunition for the HIMARS system, as well as other projectiles.

Zelensky said strikes on Russia give him a sense of justice
The news that explosions were heard in Russia as a result of UAV drone attacks give Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a sense of justice. He stated this during a speech at the Kiev Polytechnic Institute in honor of the 125th anniversary.

“Every day there is news about the next cotton somewhere out there, on the territory [of the Russian Federation]. <…> Sometimes they are very loud, sometimes less loud. But they all give a slightly greater sense of justice,” Zelensky said. The entry was posted on the youtube channel of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Earlier in Italy, Zelensky was accused of taking cynical pleasure in talking about the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In turn, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak, said that he likes to watch drone attacks on Moscow.

Governor Bogomaz: UAV drone shot down over Bryansk region
An unmanned aerial vehicle of an aircraft type was shot down by an air defense system over the Bryansk region. This was told by the head of the region Alexander Bogomaz.

“The air defense forces of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stopped the attack of Ukrainian terrorists. An unmanned aerial vehicle of an aircraft type was shot down over the Bryansk region, ”- wrote Bogomaz in his telegram channel. He clarified that there were no casualties or damage.

The day before, eyewitnesses reported explosions over Bryansk. The UAV attack was also reported on the Shot telegram channel. According to them, there were about five explosions.

Former US intelligence officer Ritter revealed in which case the APU will retreat to the Dnieper
If Kyiv fails in the counteroffensive, the Ukrainian army will withdraw to the last line of defense - to the Dnieper. This was stated in an interview by former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter.

“After the failure of the Ukrainian counter-offensive, the front will begin to crumble, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine will roll back to the Dnieper, since this is the last line of defense on which they can defend themselves,” said Ritter in an interview with journalist Garland Nixon. The ex-intelligence officer assumes that after that, about six million Ukrainians will become refugees. All of them will go to the West.

Earlier, Ritter said that after the failure of the counteroffensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine would retreat beyond the Dnieper due to heavy losses. He believes that by the end of the year, the Ukrainian army will not have the strength to hold its positions.

Watch it there comrade. Saying 'if' means that Ukraine may win. That could mean a trip out of a nearby window.

Sobyanin: Moscow and the Ministry of Defense create new air defense positions in a matter of weeks
The city authorities, together with the Ministry of Defense, are capable of equipping air defense positions in a day, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said at a speech on the Day of Workers of the Municipal Economy Complex.

“Over the past few weeks, we have indeed been creating new air defense facilities within a day at the request of the Ministry of Defense. Sometimes the asphalt does not have time to cool down, as missiles that shoot down flying drones are already working,” he said.

The mayor said that when the Ministry of Defense appealed to the authorities regarding the reorganization of air defense positions, the question arose of how much time it should be done.

“They asked me if this should be done in a month? I say, in a day,” Sobyanin emphasized.

Russian air defense systems shot down 32 Ukrainian drones in a day

According to him, this year Moscow has done a lot to protect the city from drones. He stressed that the Kiev regime is trying to stage terrorist attacks almost every day.

Sobyanin also said that in Orel they had not yet completed the arrangement of the airport for interceptors, as the day before yesterday one of the helicopters shot down a drone that was flying towards the capital. Summing up, the mayor noted that the safety of Muscovites largely depends on the employees of the municipal services complex, and thanked them for their work.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine periodically try to attack Moscow with the help of drones. In particular, this morning we managed to shoot down a drone in the Voskresensky district of the Moscow region. No one was injured in the incident and no injuries were reported.

On Monday, the air defense system destroyed a drone in the Lyubertsy region. Then there were also no casualties or damage.

Lidovky: Ukraine will have to give up four regions for peace with Russia
Volodymyr Zelensky and the government of Ukraine will have to make territorial concessions to resolve the conflict in the country, Jan Machacek, a columnist for the Czech newspaper Lidovky, writes. Ukraine would formally or informally give up four regions in exchange for American (Western) security guarantees,” the author argues. He noted that no new arms supplies, including F-16 aircraft and ATACMS long-range missiles, will situation on the battlefield. The advantage is expected to be with the Russian Air Force and Air Defense, the columnist emphasized. According to Mahachek, freezing the conflict will reduce tensions with Russia and allow for the formation of a new security architecture in Europe. After the end of the hot phase of the confrontation, the United States will be able to switch its attention to the Pacific region, where its key rival is located, he concluded. technique. On July 21, Vladimir Putin noted that the enemy had no results, and Western curators were clearly disappointed with the course of the operation. "Everything will be cleaned up." In the US, it was revealed that Russia had prepared the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Kharkov
The Russian army will clear the Donbass and Kharkiv region after the complete defeat of the advancing forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the southern direction, American journalist Jackson Hinkle said in his blog on YouTube. > This is already happening near Kharkov. The Russians are already moving in the direction of Kupyansk and are liberating village after village," he said. “Of course, in my understanding, it’s better to make peace now, but if we consider what is happening from a military point of view, then the Armed Forces of Ukraine should stop the attacks,” Hinkle concluded.

On June 4, Kiev began active hostilities in the Yuzhnodonetsk, Artemovsk and, first of all, Zaporozhye directions, throwing into battle brigades trained by the North Atlantic Alliance and armed with Western military equipment. On July 21, Vladimir Putin noted that the enemy had no results, and Western curators were clearly disappointed with the move operations. The Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to him, are not helped by either the supply of weapons and ammunition, or thousands of mercenaries and advisers.

I think ya could make those carboard (foamboard) drones last a few hours with a big enough RC petrol engine and they could reach Moscow with 4 kg of HE when cat launched from Ukraine. Imagine a few hundred of them, launched by ten crews at a drone every couple of minutes, programmed to orbit the launch site until enough are flying then send the signal that sends them on their way as a group. Cover some with aluminum tape to act as decoys to distract the defenses. Reinforce the nose or make it from plastic to mount the engine on and rubber mount it if ya gotta, fuel is from a bladder, like an IV bag on the CG. These are cheap enough to swarm a target and increasing their range puts them in range of many more targets including Russian aviation and missile systems hundreds of miles inside Russia for a pittance. 4kg of HE is enough to take out many targets and flying a couple of liters of Napalm into a lot of targets will cause more damage with fire.

Worth the effort to experiment a bit I think and perhaps some of them could be extended range petrol driven, they are single use after all and petrol engines of that size cost more, but not that much more for an engine that only has to last for several hours. Say a budget of a $1000 a drone for a Ukrainian made version of the carboard drone that can use either electric propulsion or petrol for the extended range version. Each of those transports was worth $50 million and was certainly worth a $10K beaver. These cardboard drones should make it impossible to keep aviation in Crimea or close to Ukraine with a bit of extra range. Helicopters were an issue, and this will drive them back for sure, they have to park them somewhere at night and the sky has many eyes and most can see in the dark too.

Gas engines use a tap off of the muffler to pressurize the fuel tank. I doubt the planes have the ability to program in a flight path but who knows?

Some do, but these days they make very small electric fuel pumps. They could even adapt a cheap electric blower for a four-cylinder engine to a two cylinder, change the fuel and run the shit out of it for a few hours, but cheap and simple is the way to go me thinks. I just like the idea of some of those flat pack drones with extended range. Ukraine should look at their own version and probably are, something that can reach Moscow, can reach most of Russian aviation around Ukraine with beavers for the further targets. I like the economics of it and the fact that volunteers and amateurs can pull a lot of it off. The Russians dare not keep planes close to Ukraine now, so driving them back even further might not take that many drones or attacks. Ditto for missile systems and launch sites too including AA equipment, perhaps oil targets too. They said they wanted to attack all the Russian electric railway substations around Ukraine too to implead their logistics.

So add complexity when not needed?

I’m assuming the square block with nipple is the takeoff for fuel press, the hole we see is where that U manifold, well, monofold, attaches, and the exhaust is barely visible on the left.
What’s the diagonal bit of open tube for?

… unless the parts are to scale. But connecting the U-tube to the diagonal bit leaves me confused.
