Wedding Cake VS "Wedding Cake"

Im pretty sure on paper wedding cake and pink cookies have the same genetic makeup but there two totally different selections made by two different breeders thats how it was explained to me anyway i tried both i dont rate many cookies strains tbh pink cookies was nice i didnt really rate wedding cake much tho and the only other decent potent cookie cross ive tried is the animal cookies cut that stuff was good
Yep, you're completely on the money there and in there lies the problem in which I speak of with the whole Wedding Cake vs "Wedding Cake" discussion.

I can also attest to the Pink Cookies variety being a stand-out flavour and high. It must've been good because after getting it those first (and only) two eighths before it was all gone I've been asking dude who I got it from to try and get it again nearly every time I buy from him and I'm still yet to encounter it again. I'm nearly salivating thinking of the flavour.

I haven't had Animal Cookies though. Although I once received a 1g freebie of some real deal Lumpy's 'Apple Fritter' at the seller's personal recommendation back in like 2017 way before it blew up in popularity the way it did in this last 18 months or so.

Don't quote me as there's a good chance that I have my shit mixed up here but I'm pretty sure Animal Cookies is in the Apple Fritter. However, I'm not exactly sure how much it's represented in the plant's expression, if it's even in it at all.

But that's as close as I've come to trying Animal Cookies.

In regard to the Purple Cake, just how low yielding are we talking? That was one of the few old Seed Junky crosses that appealed most to me but after reading your experience with it I've reconsidered pulling the trigger on parting with $650 to buy a pack. Damn, I was hoping that it would've pumped out a more than desirably sized yield.
Bro don't drop $650 on a pack...that's just crazy, they're seeds

Haven't flowered it out yet im on week 2. The Purple Cake is from Greenpoint but they have been out for awhile. Got my pack for like $20 mad I didn't get more smdh! Its only one pheno & I've seen others on GPS site leave picture reviews & yield looks good. Think I just got a real OG TK dom pheno, really thin vine stem. I don't mind the lower yield if it turns out fire.

Personally wouldn't drop $650 on that, lot more cheaper WC options. I want to try Wedding Fantasy (Wedding Cake x Kurple Fantasy) from Cult Classics, can find a 6 pack of fems for $50-70

Wedding cake is deceptively slow in early flower, once you hit week 4 you'll really see it start stacking.

Could be the punch cut too, it's a grower.

Nagh no way. Not with all things considered. It was that cross in particular that appealed to me. Wasn't so much the Wedding Cake factor. More the idea of the combination of a mixture grape/purple terps coupled with the "vanilla frost" aroma/flavour of the WC that was the appealed to me the most. I'm going to sit it out until the Mai Tai crosses drop anyhow. That way when I spend around $650 Clearwater I won't feel so "Damn, I probably shouldn't have that!" about the affair.

Got ya, I'll take note of that thanks. Could of vegged them longer but needed to get something in the flower tent or I'm going to be out of bud for awhile.

Ok so as a strain access deprived Aussie who's been lucky enough to try a handful of the more exotic varieties (compared to what's on offer here in Oz - although they would be considered to be staple cultivars to alot of you guys) but can never try enough, I've been left to wonder what's the difference between the two different 'Wedding Cakes'? ie; the 'AKA Pink Cookies' (Cherry Pie × GSC) and the Jungle Boys / J. Beezy (Animal Mints × Triangle Kush #3).

I've brought some imported Pink Cookies variety a UK vendor and it was fucking lovely. I remember the taste and the accompanying relaxing high were the most memorable attributes to it, particularly the taste. And this was about 3 years ago now so it must've been pretty high calibre for it to be that memorable for me with the way my shitty memory is.

What are your thoughts guys?
I'm firing a free gift from a UK vender. It seems to be coming along nicely. Would this be the same house brand that you fired? If so what did it taste like?? I'm also running this same house vender's Amnesia Auto. It's further along and I'm hoping to see some lateral growth soon. The little thing looks like a rocket pop . . . the auto is about four weeks from seed (the profile says 2-3 mo) and the "wedding cake" (usually they will call it a tribute) is two and a half week in from transplant (it is a photo plant).20210529_143945.jpg20210529_144012.jpg

Thank you for clearing the air on this discussion. It's basically conformed that everything I had heard and learned about was true for the most part. It would've been great if there was someone here who has had considerable experience with both cultivars who could weigh in on the how they differentiate themselves from each other, ie yield, terps, smell/flavours and most of all quality of the high.

I understand that you've had quite an extensive relationship with the Triangle Mints variety. I'd love to just be able to try it for once.

Im sick of hearing everything being clone only.....if you want the clone only without access to the clone.....pheno hunt a pack of seeds & try to find the same pheno....may take 10-20+ packs, but it CAN be found.

People dont like pheno hunting these days, or breeding for that matter.....find a special pheno and suddenly its a brand new strain you created....gtfoh.

Outdoor Wedding Cake clone at 58 days. Didn’t bulk out like I hoped but that is to be expected with 11 hours or less of sunlight for most of its life.

Looks good. I'm still running the Wedding Cake clone myself, and still love it. I usually run it 70 days of 12/12 indoor, so that's probably about the same as 58 outdoor from first sign of sex. I'm at 60-days 12/12 with her now, I'll try to snap a pic for the thread when the lights come on.
