There are plenty of Seniors who are quite wealthy and would not come close to being on the street. SS is not a retirement plan.Yet you're the one who'd be perfectly happy throwing seniors out on the street and taking away their medicare.

We managed to fight off the nazi's just fine with out spending more than the entire world combined on our military. The only reason we would need to spend this much is if we were facing an attack from the rest of the world combined + a few aliens. That seems unlikely.World war I, World War II... All just for oil right? Who really cared if they burned up all the jews... Right?
Now imagine seniors sleeping in cardboard boxes and being denied medical treatment. That's the flip side of what you are suggesting. Ignore it all you want but it was a very real problem. That's why we have social security and medicare.Imagine if we didnt have Social Security and Medicare and people were responsible for their own retirements... Then maybe the government wouldnt need to confiscate 20-40% of our paychecks and we could use that money to invest and save on our own. What a f'in concept!!!
It was the largest tax cut in history. lol. If that failed to stimulate the economy then you should be against tax cuts as a form of stimulus.I was against Iraq but that is water under the bridge just like Obama's failed stimulus package which was essentially WELFARE for the unions and state governments...
Ok, well as long as rich people are ok, who cares about everyone else. Let them eat cake! There are plenty of Seniors who are quite wealthy and would not come close to being on the street. SS is not a retirement plan.
Only 38% of seniors list SS as the major contributor to their funds. Pensions and savings make up a large percentage of assets for the aged. So maybe 38% of seniors would have to live in Cardboard boxes, but i bet that Churches and seniors families would step up and give them the quality of life they deserve. But i would wager that the Government would just absolutely LOVE it if 38% of all seniors curled up in a cardboard box and died, imagine how much more money government could spend on its own continued growth?Ok, well as long as rich people are ok, who cares about everyone else. So you want 38% of seniors to live in homeless shelters so you can get a discount on your taxes? How nice of you.Only 38% of seniors list SS as the major contributor to their funds. When they cant beat you with logic they change it over to compassion...So you want 38% of seniors to live in homeless shelters so you can get a discount on your taxes? How nice of you.
Well, since I am the OP...whats the point of this thread..????
LOL...What happened to the Dems....LOL...The Dems happened to the Dems....Well, since I am the OP...
The purpose was to determine what the hell the Democrats were thinking by fucking around threatening to raise taxes until less than 2 weeks before Christmas. How could they possibly think this is going to help them somehow?
BTW, it is going through the house of representatives tomorrow.
They would pull the temple down on the head if they could...LOL they did,,,lost what 63 seats in the house biggest loss since the 40's.LOL...What happened to the Dems....LOL...The Dems happened to the Dems....
Logic? What logic? lol! When they cant beat you with logic they change it over to compassion...
Logical Fallacy, Straw man argument. I NEVER made a claim like that at all.So you want 38% of seniors to live in homeless shelters so you can get a discount on your taxes? How nice of you.
Remember, this is the lame duck congress and the new members wont come in until January. What I find funny is how the Republicans are so celebrating how they were able to keep taxes from going back to pre-Bush era for the rich..Cool yes they got what they wanted no tax raise for the rich, but has anyone really took the time to see what all the Republicans gave to Obama to secure this ??? In fact it helps stimulate the economy.
• The Bush tax cuts, originally set to expire Dec. 31, will be preserved for two years for all income levels -- a Republican priority.
• The federal government will continue to offer emergency benefits to people who have been unemployed for up to 99 weeks. The emergency benefits had already started to run out for some, but now will be maintained for 13 months. That was crucial to the White House.
• The Social Security payroll tax will be cut for one year, saving $1,000 for a family earning $50,000 a year.
• Estates up to $5 million in value will be exempted from the estate tax, and those estates that are subject to the tax will pay a maximum rate of 35 percent -- down from 45 percent....Republican thing
• Certain refundable tax credits, including the Earned Income Tax Credit, will be extended.
• For two years, businesses can deduct 100 percent of the cost of new investments, in an effort to spur business spending.
( dude I'm about to open another laundromat on this one )
Hell if anything this thread should be "What happened to the Tea Party". I thought they were against government spending and adding to the deficit.
We are in the lame duck congress. The people that were voted in have not taken office yet. So, you are already trying to blame the new congress before it is even in session.I'm sorry could you remind me once again what the Republicans suppose to be doing...I thought it was to be more fiscal responsible???
