i have heard the term budder for hash before, but i am quite confused on the process. what makes budder, budder? i am in the process of whipping my oil. attempting to make it into "earwax". but only a few batches have stayed in that state. other times it just goes back into its glistening-shiny-unwax

you have to keep whipping and whipping over heat, i put it in the fridge for ten minutes then whip over heat again and it should butter

i figured it out. i never do it with heat and it works great. the het makes it easier to whip im sure. but i find that when i whip it, it has to sit for a day, then whip again, then whip again. i have some earwax right now, but its very crumbly, but dry and i can touch it, so mission accomplished, yeah? i love this concentrate world i live in!!! i have to take my daily morning oil dab. Ab-ra-ka-DAB-ra!!!! its 7:10 somewhere....lol!!

wait... are "butter" and "earwax" the same thing, basically?? i want more of a waxy consistency. know what im saying??

Yeah ear wax and butter are just different names. You have to vaccum purge or whip it over low heat to get that waxy consistency.

i pretty much got it that consistency right now. so, id say mission accomplished. ill have to upload a pic here later today. seems like its a tad bit smoother then the oil. maybe not. my oil is super smooth to begin with. and has a faint taste of citrus. MMmmMMmm!!

I seemed to think the wax i made was smoother but then i realized i wasnt purging all the butane out but now i get it all out and like the oil better but sometimes it is a pain to dab where the wax is easy thats the only upside i see and to me its not worth the extra effort but to each his own.

^Don't take my word for this...but I've have heard...slash I think...peanut butter textured errls mean you haven't purged well enough. Don't take my word for it...but every wax I've seen with a peanut butter texture was under purged. Could be wrong...not trying to hate.

if its buddered up its clean some just have a slightly gooey texture and are easier to dab more like laffy taffy texture, opposed to some moon rocks. IMAG1359.jpgIMAG1366.jpg

can you please explain "under purged"? do you mean not enough pressure in the vessel? i have been experimenting with a slightly new technique. i have a buddy who knows a dude i used to know. its some dude who i can't stand. but he makes the oil and supposedly his methods are a tad bit different then mine. well, i heard he submerges the end of the extractor about 1/4 of an inch, maybe less. he submerges the cloth while purging. i do not know what this does if anything. but i have noticed that when i did it the last 2 times a chunk of what appears to look like chewing gum balls up and floats around. i know this because when i make oil i blow on the top to get the bubbles to go away. basically to see what color i have, how thick it will be and just to get the butane smell away from my face. it seems that the piece that chunks up has a little bit of mass to it. i do not know if this is because i submerged the end slightly for a couple of seconds. and i do not know if it helps with quality or quantity. its just a little trick i suppose you could try next time. i will keep making oil with each and every harvest. i am making oil a household term around these parts.

As you said i am also not 100% sure but from all the runs i have done and my own experimentation i have only come to conclude that as you stated the peanut butter looking stuff needs a longer/better purge

Everyone seems to do big runs compared to me but thats because im broke and cant afford large runs. Anyway because of that I feel as though I was able to refine my technique much quicker and easier because I do runs like 2-3 times a week so I just make changes and keep track of the outcomes and I can tell you I have a 100% better product now then I did 3 weeks ago. I usually only run a gram or 3.5 grams at a time which helps with speed and ease of purging. just wanted to throw that out there.

mine get better every time to practice makes perfect i usualy pack a hundred grams of trim into my extractor and get anywhere from 10-14 grams most of the time. its just as easy spread out the oil over 12x7 pyrex dish everything is just on a larger scale. how long do you purge for? and your using boiling water?

My purge time depends on how much oil i am purging. I spread it super thin like paper and keep scraping while its floating in water that is on really low heat id say around 120 degrees. I use alot of water so it slowly rises to temp so it never gets hotter then i want. it takes alot of scraping with the razor pointy edge until its transparent and thats when i am done. My runs were as little as .5 grams and biggest was 5 grams at a time which i just did an hour or so ago and it just took alot more scraping and more time to completely purge.

I have seen some of the liitle ready-made honey oil extracor. The capacity of them are of fiftheen grams of plants materials, in place of this, i would like to replace it by low grade kieff, such as the one produced with a long lasting rotative extractor, geared with beads, or any othe way else you can know about. Since the extractor is made of pyrex glass, this will be much mure purer. also, envisagein this is more an option with this extractor, since gather the amout of kief needed would be very hard, for the average grower. I will also try in that process to use the purest kind available of buthane. i am thiking to a way to pass directly and safely the crude but evaporated oil in a pharmacy vial, or a syringe, not sure.
can i do an aerator evaporator, like a bigger pipe cut in half on the lengh, (like waterslide, with a fitting to reach the gage of the vial. i would after cook it a bit.
i am in another way want to know more about propan an the reason that's not used.
thanx. i want yours oppinion on my plans. please.
