what is your honest gram per watt ? no bull shit . honest answers only.please.

Honestly I've only done one total indoor grow and got like .65 g/watt. If my leaf trim and butter produced was added in I would be right at .75 grams/watt.

My current grow I think looks more like 0.8 grams per watt of bud. Really don't get too concerned as my electricity is cheap and I just like growing them.

Grams x watts divided by the number of months flowering. ( for 45 days it would be 1.5 months)

that formula makes more sense given the various flowering times of different strains.

i use ounces per sq foot personally.

so far some nice high numbers gpw. I wanted to see some led results as well or cfl. reports.
Last run with SGS - 160 LED and 8 x 54W T5 side lighting yielded 196 grams completely dry, so .33 gpw. This was one plant in a 3x3 with 2-3 month veg.

The challenge with GPW is it doesn't come close to telling the whole story. You need to factor in size of room and veg time time / total time to completion. For instance, my GPW is low so you could draw the conclusion that LED/T5 can't produce, but I could have fit another plan in that same space and doubled the GPW as I had plenty of coverage which would have yielded a respectable .66 GPW for 2 plants in a 3x3.

It would be interesting to see a standard production formula that incorporates total time to completion, room size and lighting to deliver a number that was more relevant than GPW.

Then add veg time on top of all that.

Guys vegging for 6+ weeks should be somewhere in the .7 to 1 gram a watt depending on strain, anything over and you obviously dialed in, don't trim for shit, have a broken scale or are telling lies . Otherwise something is a miss.

My first grow I finished 2 very small bag seed plants under a 400w hps, got 14g per plant cured. Thats .07gram per watt. Beat that. Haha. It was a waste of electricity but they finished. I was only going to use a 150w hps for the grow but upgraded to the 400w and had it on 3rd week of flower on out. Heres a link to my 2nd try with good genetics and doing a scrog, I should smash my first grows yield.

1.17 GPW doing a SOG under 1,000w. That's trimmed like a mofo dried , cured ,jarred . Not counting the popcorn. Those plants dont grow much leaf.

Over 30 years experience helps.

Well lets see. Basically I vegged about 6 weeks. Lst grow in a 1 gallon pot. 8 cfls @26 watt per bulb 1600 lumen per bulb I harvested 40.2 gram wet. After dry and cure it came out to be 28.4grams dry. So if I take 208watts / 28grams ==7.4285714286 is this correct?

No....28g/208w=.13g per watt. If you were getting 7.4g per watt you would be hands down the best grower on earth....7 g per watt would be like growing with a single 23w bulb and getting like 6 zips....if only

I average a little better than .5 per watt. Might can go so far to call it .6 per watt.
I call bullshit when I see the 1.+ per watt. Not saying it doesn't happen but if you arent giving really long veg times and intense training, I simply don't believe it.

I posted this in a different thread. I feel it belongs in this thread:

I wish i could still get away with growing them strains that easily put out 2+ Per light. Unfortunately, those type of strains just don't cut it anymore. I'm happy getting 1.5 from og's or cookies or purple type strains.

My flower room is always on
12/12. I know plenty people who rock a smaller setup, and use the flower room for veg, for a week or two at the beginning of every crop. The extra week or two with them 1000w's + space before flower ensures they usually get a better yield. But can they squirt out as many crops as me in a year? NO! So, its not really a fair comparison. GPW should include veg time watts used also. Than, we would all be on the same page

Thats a funny quote. I dont believe that members of rollitup can find this unbelievable. Sog guys usually get 1 gpw at least where i come from without even trying. I mean if your using cfls or leds i can see where your coming from but if your grow doesnt have huge flaws then i cant see getting less than .5 gpw. If you are your doing somthing wrong.....or maybe just not as right as you could be, maybe a cramming lesson is in order :):):)

i agree veg time space and power used should be included
also when calculating sog grows using 50 plants to fill the space that 5 large plants can fill
the extra space for mothers and clones that is needed for sog to have 50 clones ready for every run
should also be included

What you and i CAN believe, is that they are probably growing what u and i call "boo boo" ok, maybe just "mid grade"? u guys out there are pulling 2lbs a light from og's easily? Wtf man
Sog or not

I dont buy into that.....what you should be doing is dividing time and watts and somthing else either. I dont grow sog, i grow trees and long finishers but i count on a good gpw to make it worth my while. The sog guys are like three times more efficient but at the end of the day over 1000 grams dry per 1000 watt light is over a gpw no mater how you slice it impo.

Again, i wish i could still pull 2+ per light. I was gettin that 20 yrs ago! In home made aero tubes w/ no veg, sog at it's finest. Those type strains just don't cut it in california any more. Sure it's possible with top notch strains, but not easily

i agree, grams per watt is a horrible way to judge yield.. so say someone grew three trees, got a pound from 3 plants, but he also vegged them for 3 months, on top of 2.5 months of flowering..
another person takes 30 clones, no veg time, or say a weeks veg, then flowers for 60 days.. he also got a pound from 30 plants.. obviously the guy with the shorter veg time had better results as less electricity and nutes and and and were used to get the same pound it took the other guy 5.5 months to get..

and personally, i'd rather have small amounts of killer smoke, then pounds and pounds of big bud..
my $.02

And correct me if i'm wrong someone. But GPW used to mean(when it was first used in newsgroups)grams per watt per month. And i'm almost positive it was supposed to mean w/veg watts also.
I'm absolutely never gonna argue about it! SOG is going to be the most effecient way as far as watts used for the entire grow. Strains matter though! Thats what i'm trying to get across.

If your able to get away with growing pog, ice, bigbud, and what not, sweet! U can't give that shit away where i live
