What You Think?

These plants were grown on the windowsill for 6 weeks then I decided to make a little grow room and see if I can get them flowering.

Give me some opinion do they look healthy? I think they're stretched?

How much bigger are they likely to grow?

Stake em up, flip the switch and see how well your grow area works I say. Yeah, they are a little stretched - but hopefully staking them will stop that being a problem. The close up pics of the leaves maybe hint at some sort of minor deficiency, not that I'm experienced enough to know what - but im sure its nothing major. All the best!

Maybe they need more nutrients, been giving them once a week, tomato feed.

A little info on your setup would help (lighting, size, etc.)

From looking at the leaves it looks like those are sativa dominant, which means they will most likely stretch 2 or 3 times as big as they are now by the end of budding (also depending on lighting or pot size). They look pretty healthy. You will want to keep an eye out for two white pistil hairs, which means they are female. If you see single ball sack looking things then it is a male, and you should kill it (unless you want seeds). For nutrients it is all up to you. I prefer organic soils and teas for my nutrients. Your local hydro store or nursery can help you with this, just tell them you are growing tomatoes and other flowering veggies

For budding you will want to keep your plants in at least 12 hours of complete darkness. 12 on 12 off is what most people do with their lights during this stage. If you are using CFL lights make sure the color temp is 2700k, which should be on the packaging. If you have the cash get a hps light 150 or 200 watt will work well for a small space.

Let's put it this way: You can veg as much as you want but the plant will stretch 2 to 3 times it's size during flower. You can even go 12/12 from the beginning and have midget plants. Looking good but they look like they need to be flowered already.

Yeah they were sat on the windowsill, I thought they would flower on their own but well now I realise that's not the case, so I made my little grow room.

It's under 2 105watt CFL's 1 2700k one 6400k

Got them under 12/12

Is there any way I can stop them growing that much? I have space for them to double in size (presuming at least 1 male which I will get rid of, I have some nice seeds for my next grow)

I am growing tomato's, just in the normal way so I used the soil and nutrients I used for my tomato's (which aren't going well this year but the peppers are doing good!)

You can make them not as tall by bending down the branches and tying them to the pot itself. I believe this is called LST (low stress training?). I do this to all my sativa plants, and it works out pretty good because it also allows areas of the plant that do not normally get light get light, which means more bigger buds. The only problem with this is it will take up more area because you are stretching the branches outwards. Just be careful & gentle with the branches and you should be fine Most people start LST during early veg, but it can be done during early flowering.

Here's an example:



I used scewers & rubberbands (because I was using plastic bags), but you can use string and make holes in the pot to tie the branches down to.
