once them larger leaves which have 3 on at moment get 7 leafs that is when i class it day one of veg and its no longer a seedling but a plant=)

i got 4x20w CFLs today LMAO the misses went a bit mental, but i told her to see u about it LOL
I couldnt see any higher than 20w bulb. Obviously the more the better. Got 4 anyways, all diff shapes and sizes LOL

very nice sas, you definitely can get away with using a HPS for vegging, and when u get ready to flower just throw the CFL's in there. Im excited to see how ur plants turn out, I only have 1 white widow growing in my garden and I just found out last night she is indeed a she! Good luck with the rest of ur grow, I'll be checking back frequently

Hi spittn4cash, thanks for the confidence boost Glad to hear you want sit and watch.

So i have a picture from today for everyone; so its day 14 from seed under 250w HPS. Looking good

PS made a stupid mistake with the cfls LOL i didnt know about the 2700k and the 6000k one. I knew they came in 2 diff light waves thats why i got 4mixed as it didnt say on the boxs (damit LMAO) and ive just found out. Just my luck, everyone was 2700k LOL are these any good to use for flowering on their own?? if so ill keep them (maybe add to hps for flowering?), if not ill hand them back tomorrow and see if they have the right ones. My own fault

Ahh hey that looks amazing. Great pics buddie, looks like weed from another planet LOL have to admit they look great, never saw whitewidow flowered before. Dr greenthumb is nearly at that stage, so his should look like that soon

all of my CFLS are 2700K and they work great in both Veg and Flowering, if I was to add them to a 250W HPS, man I would grow some dank buds! U should be alright with the 2700k CFL's in flowering, the 2700K is actually what ur supposed to use during flowering anyhow.

Ahh, abit of good news lol thats cool. Ill experiment with it first anyhow with 1plant, see how it goes/grows. Is the photo in your gallery grew with 2700k CFLs?

yup, 6@26W warm white/2700K CFL's.
nice pix btw, when u hook up those CFL's U might have to turn the HPS off while taking ur pix, but they look good so far.

what are ur plans for nutes? when ya gonna start feeding? what type are U gonna use?

good question actually, i was just thinking about that earlier.
Well im still not 100% sure about the NPK value for veg growth or what kind to get for weed. I know that it will eat more nitorgen at this stage, but how do u balance the rest for weed? ie 15-10-10 (?) is there a certain value for weed? (i hope u can answer before i go out today cos ill get it when im out)

Hi guys,
Ok, went round a good few electric places today looking for 6200k CFLs but no luck. All were 2700k and i have enough of them now lol
As for fertilizer, i shouldve tried to get to Homebase/b&q for this but didnt have time, i ended up in tescos and ended up getting miracle gro concentrate feed with an NPK of 6-5-5. I know its abit low but i thought i should get one just now as i dont think ill make homebase for a week or 2 yet (busy), atleast i have something just now. Was best one out of 3shops i went to.
Opinons welcome guys...

When i woke up this morning i woke to me forgetting to turn the lights on so lights were off for about 12-13hours. I switched em on right away and opneed the closet. The smell of weed is pretty strong LOL i was surprised it smelled so strong so young. That was a bonus....

Plants looking abit droopy. Watered them well and all is ok now.

thanks for confirming what i thought lol i was sitting here starting to panic.
So i decided to do abit more reading about wilting and i picked up some other stuff. What i read contradicts everything ive heard. Like watering a plant from above rather than from below? use a mister to water? then ill read something else that is the complete opposite.

So i guess trial and error comes into effect now lol best way to learn i suppose.
next bit is pruning. what stage, where from, to take cuttings? ill check FAQ.

is it true that its better to have soil that is more alkaline than acid?

I couldnt get a PH test kit/meter when i visted the local store when i started. I have a funny feeling that my water may be acidic.

A couple of leaves are looking abit droopy, leaves are at the bottom of the plant. Almost every plant has so its obvioulsy something im doing wrong. what are the signs for droopy bottom leaves? is it PH, Nutes??

Cannabis is an acid loving plant and will tolerate the pH range of 5.0-8.0 but 7.0 is idea.

If U feel the water is too acidic then I'd either pick up a pH kit from a pet store (in the aquarium department) or just go out and get a couple bottles of distilled water.

Ur still overwatered but dont fret..

Dont panic until you see the bottom leaves turning yellow, that happens when the plants are so overwatered the roots begin to lockout the nutes, when this happens DO NOT FEED NUTES until you have solved the overwatering issue. In some cases you may need to add a cap full of 3% hydrogen peroxide to your water... but be careful, this may burn the plant if it falls on any foilage, and can kill any micro-organisms living in the soil feeding the roots.

I think its a coincedence that my WW plant also has drooping leaves at the bottom, but I know for a fact its not over-watered. This is my first time growing WW but definitely not my first grow and Ive noticed that it usually starts to happen around day 30 or so for most of my strains..still no biggie.

So im still abit overwatered u think! and dont fert at the mo! gotchya. My fist leaves or leave should i say, turned yellow so i cut em off. Im led to beileve that i shouldnt have. i dont think they wouldve recovered but then i may have been wrong. Wont be cutting anymore leaves unless total necessary.

thanks for that piece of info. Didnt know that pet shops sell them, for fish tanks ofcourse, but ill try tomorrow.
