Why do people use Autoflowers after their 1st grow?

-Plant count. In Canada we can only grow 4. So we don't need to worry about cloning and vegging plants messing up our plant count.
-Growing in a colder basement in Canada keeping the lights on 24/7 helps keep the plants nice and cozy.
-Easier to grow a variety of strains at any given time.
-Great for shorter outdoor grow seasons.
-Shorter turn around
-less space required with no addition of veg/clone area.
I think the places where it is legal but you have a weed plant count, exactly 98.6253% of people suddenly get REALLY bad at math....

there are pros and cons to autos in my eyes and one con greatly out weighs the pros for me
you can’t keep it going by cloning what you have, you have to buy seeds or make them and seeds are not identical copies so you’re gonna lose the pheno you like no matter what and that stinks
other than that i don’t see many problems with autos

This is a big con for autos... But variety is the spice of life. For me, I don't want to deal with the hassle of keeping a mom... And Taking clones all the time. This also takes up space. For sure if you have to have that 1 phenotype, this is the way to go... Also clones make for a more predictable end yield. Also if you keep growing the same clones, you will have the opportunity to really dial in your grow for that specific cultivar.

On the other hand, if you like different things and trying new stuff all the time, growing from seed is a great option. Seeds in a refrigerator take up way less space are much less work and use much less electricity than a mother and clones.

Always wanted to grow autos just to see how they grow, by this comment I mite give it a try on the next outdoor season. Have quite a lot from the freebies when I got my first pack of photo seeds. How would I go about planting them out(I do guerrilla type for outdoors in corn fields).
How big would be ideal for transplanting them out in maize?, the window is from early November to April.

I just got back into growing after a long long hiatus….and I only grew outdoors before. We would start inside under fluorescents then outside for the duration. A lot changed in that time and autos are now a thing. So curiosity was the first reason I chose to grow autos. Since the full indoor grow was all new to me, I had a lot to learn…still do. But the one reason that I am relegated to autos right now is the location of my grow space and the difficulty I would have with total light deprivation. Growing a photo would be filled with light leaks and that’s a recipe for failure.
Autos have their place and right now they meet my needs. I will def grow some photos but not until a few changes are made to my setup.
We grew clones several seasons and it’s nice to know exactly what you’re getting…..but variety is also a good thing for me.
So it’s autos for the next grow for sure.

Yes i do ..I grow outdoors.Just wanted to see how much time you have in one.Just because i do outdoors only see them 4 to 7 times a year. But anytime i ask about time no one will answer me..They just get mad... My hobbie i s Outdoors Since 76..Did not think i would get bitched at for spelling...Thanks
You're a fucking imbecile. Learn English you sister fucking dolt. Maybe if people understood your hillbilly jibberish they could answer you. 3rd grade isn't just a place to get free breakfast. It's also a place to learn. You should have attended.

There is no Durbin Aut
I have been growing Autos due to light leaks. I thought they were faster, but so far it takes 4-5 weeks to flower and my stativas seem to be taking 14-16 weeks from first hairs to finish. I may try some Fastbuds to see f they are actually faster. After my White Widows and Durban finish I've got Northern Lights Autos on deck. We shall see if Indica is actually faster.
There is no Durbin Auto..

Beyond the south shall rise again rhetoric
I have asked myself why people are choosing autos aside from fast finish outdoors
Then it dawned on me
These folks in UK … growing in lofts
can run their lights 24/7 eliminating the concern of temperature drops during lights out
It just isn’t in my wheelhouse but certainly a plausible use

I have never said anything about the south will rise...But thanks for the answer Suds. Here it is not a good idea to grow small plants. It is not worth it here..Jail for a plant that is 3ft. No way 8ft is the smallest i can have to make it worth it

Np I wouldn’t waste my time on that either
I was just trying to figure out the benefits of autos in general
I guess everyone has regional issues where they may be an answer
