Putin is paranoid and psychotic, he’s totally blown it by exposing his psychopathy for all to see. An exposed psychopath is more dangerous, so he will now do the strong man half stripped on horse back small guy thing and start pressing red buttons, (when he decides there has been any “interference” from foreign agencies in Ukraine).
Germany and U.K. would be the first targets. Imo
I believe you Zedd.

I'm going to be pissed off if I hear the missiles coming to get me. Think of it. If it happens, then the paranoid survival nut jobs were right. That thought will chap my ass when I'm kissing it goodbye.

In all seriousness I’m concerned about the delayed response to this situation in Ukraine, I think it may be due to mass psychological denial, this plays into Putin’s hands. It’s game on, time to take the shirt off and grease the torso, the Russians are coming

Nuclear war has always been a possibility to us. If that happens, the world is changed and nobody can tell what their future will be, assuming they have one. I don't worry about what I can't affect. So I make light of it. Laughter among the skulls.

Regardless of what I can't control, doing the things that I can do in the right way is the correct path. Then the fight is on multiple fronts, only a few of them can I do anything about. It sucks to be a mouse but that's my role. I'm going to Portland this weekend to stand with others against fascism at home. I'm writing my congressmen to give them my support in the effort to bring Trump to justice. Ron Wyden Senator for Oregon is chair of a committee that regulates the banks and I've already written him about investigating Putin's dirty money in this country, I mean, duh. And of course, I'm involved with my local chapter of the Democratic Party, getting ready for the primaries.

My work consumes me too.

It's all so pathetically small. Doing some things well is better than worrying.

Stop believing that bullshit. Putin makes himself look larger than life. His army is not superior to the west. Period. That's why he constantly attacks the smaller countries around him. He knows the EU and US are loathe to have a war in Europe. And takes advantage.
Ukraine is quiet large for Europe.

He would be committing suicide for himself and 90% of the Russian population, a single US nuclear submarine could do it and the UK has them too.

And all that remains is what will China do?
What's best for China and being in economic partnership with the west has lead to phenomenal growth and prosperity over the past 30 years. They won't do anything that would fuck that up and we are gonna be nice to them and let them have as much Iranian oil as they like, make it their energy hinterland. America was improving relations with Iran before Trump and he wanted to cause shit with China, Iran hates Russia and they are more of an immediate threat than America right now.

Taiwan is more for show IMHO, there is a lot of mutual prosperity and trade between China and Taiwan and has been for a long time. In many ways China depends on Taiwan technologically and probably won't fuck thing up for no reason, they are patient and can wait while they grow stronger in the world. War is bad for business and the Chinese are all about business, that's how they intend to dominate, by trade.

This bothers me:

Amid growing condemnation, Russia has sought to draw closer to China, with Putin traveling to Beijing on February 4 to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping ahead of the Winter Olympics. The summit ended with the release of a sweeping statement that declared there were "no limits" to the two countries' relationship and "no 'forbidden' areas of cooperation."
The display of solidarity has not gone unnoticed in the West. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen referred to Xi and Putin's recent joint statement in strongly-worded remarks at the Munich Security Conference on Friday, suggesting Beijing and Moscow sought to replace the rule of law with "rule of the strongest."

trigger warning, a harsh lesson from animal in pain below.

I saw a possum get hit by a car that took out the use of its rear legs. I didn't hit it, I saw the accident. The car that hit it kept going. I had already stopped and it was in my headlights. The poor thing looked up, eyes flashed at me in the lights and pulled itself by its front two legs across the road to a ditch to hide. The animal's instinct and drive to survive overcame all.

My will to survive won't let me stop trying.

Some perspective on nuclear weapons, many have been detonated above ground in the USA... One hitting a city would be catastrophic to say the least. So if you don't live in a targeted city and the Russians are annihilated before they can launch too many... There are many possible scenarios, none of them good.

Wow...just wow.. Murika!

"However, so far, atmospheric nuclear testing alone is believed to have caused 2.4 million deaths through cancer. This is the legacy of the Nuclear Age. The U.S. has blasted itself more than 1,000 times and killed more than a million of its own people "

Yep, they went underground, but there were hundreds of above ground tests in America. The point is that while nuclear war is never good, it might not be the end of the world, but it will make life nasty, brutish and short though.

The island i live on is said to have one of the best survival chancers if the earth goes nuclear. Not something id ever want to contemplate but the world knows America is crazy enough to use em.

You speak as if the world were somebody. That seems absurd. It harms the rest of your argument.
