Satellite data proves Earth has not been warming the past 18 years - it's stable

Losing NY, Philly, Washington D.C., Norfolk, Boston, Charleston, All of Florida, Halifax, Montreal, Vancouver,New Orleans, Houston, San Diego, L.A., San Fran, Portland, and Seattle isn't a minor event.

The resources, time and money that it would take to help everyone who's been displaced would be catastrophic (and most likely avoidable).

Not to mention the 600,000,000 Chinese people that would be displaced...

For those that think climate change is new, even our govt doesn't think that.

The climate, on a global scale, is always changing, although usually not at a rate fast enough for people to notice. There have been many warm periods, such as when the dinosaurs lived (about 100 million years ago) and many cold periods, such as the last ice age of about 18,000 years ago.

  • During the last ice age (when glaciers covered more land area than today) the sea level was about 400 feet (122 meters) lower than it is today. At that time, glaciers covered almost one-third of the land
  • During the last warm spell, 125,000 years ago, the seas were about 18 feet (5.5 meters) higher than they are today. About three million years ago the seas could have been up to 165 feet (50.3 meters) higher.

-----------------------------

The total volume (sea water) is approximately 1.3 billion cubic kilometers (310 million cu mi)

So, if you dump all the ice into the sea and it melts that is 8.4//310 = 2.7% increase in ocean volume.

And it results in:

Lower ocean temp
decreased salinity
increased oxygen content
stall of the currents

None are good for our food chain.

So it is hardly a matter of a few million people drowning. No one will drown. All will be at war.

you cant prove any of that shit happened, and cant cite a single PEER REVIEWED study that wasnty funded by Big Oil, the Koch Brothers, or the Heartlands Insititute

funded by Big Business!

padda has already established that dinosaurs, the last ice age, sabertooth cats and all that shit are fictional.

It's not so much the funding as it the confirmation bias the 'scientists' start with, IMO. If the funding comes from a company that's one thing, if it comes with strings attached it's another.

Again, if something like ice is freely floating, it already displaces its own mass, and due to expansion when freezing, would actually lower the height in the glass by between 8-10% of the mass of the ice.

And since youre a bit slow Ill spell it out... that means nothing would happen, the level would actually lower.
Uh, no. Think about it. It will stay the same. But the top of the ice will be higher. Remember, water EXPANDS as it freezes.

Dude I can see that you are clueless to what is an ice shelf and how sea levels can and will raise with the melting of them.
You need to abandon your mistaken belief that the ice selves are not floating. Look at any photo of the Antarctic shore. Or just keep looking like an idiot.

Note the redtacted images that proves this is real. :) Subs and aircraft?

Mainly we forget about the rest of the glacier. The shelf is holding it back.
So while the shelf is pinned to the grounding line it hold back the rest of the ice.
Yet, inexplicably. the glacier insists on flowing into the sea.

"All the ice on ***land*** has melted and drained into the sea" You are so stubborn you can't see your own post disagrees with you.
Let me finish the sentence for you seeing how you are unable to read past a certain amount of word..

All the ice on land has melted and drained into the sea, raising it 216 feet and creating new shorelines for our continents and inland seas.

Yeah, because it is so easy to move a billion people 30 feet higher.(storm surge and new tide profiles)

How foolish.

Do you think the other 5 billion people will just say, "Hey, we can all just cram in. We will give you some land." You are not counting the $Trillions in lost infrastructure and $Trillions in lost business, $Trillon in disrupted trade. This is to say nothing of the World Wars that will result.
It says nothing of murder and starvation before that.

You really are lost in the scope of this. It is bigger than you can think,
The earth has gone through numerous ice ages and warming periods and I have yet to get anyone to be able to answer why this particular temperature is where we should try to make the climate STOP changing.

You are right, the scope is bigger than even we humans have the ability to change and thus adaptation is a much more sane avenue of research than stabilization.

But it isnt about trying to save the planet, it is about power and control over the lives of every person and you seem to keep missing that point.

If you fill a glass with ice and the fill the voids with water your ice cream on top will be floating, but when it melts it will not go into the fucking glass. It will run down the sides because the glass mass has been filled ( no voids )...so where will these melting ice shelves water go ????? Here is a fucking hint

All the ice on land has melted and drained into the sea, raising it 216 feet and creating new shorelines for our continents and inland seas

"All the ice on land" You only see the parts you want to see.
