Rights are not to be infringed. You are dangerously close to being an apologist for almost all dictatorships and tyrants throughout history.
Surely since you claim to be self ruled you understand the basis of our system is supposed to be truth and honesty. The machinations of intelligence apparatuses always ends up in the corruption and reduction of liberties and rights.

Rights may be infringed. But, hardasses and truth seekers have to make sure that is kept to a minimum. It is self rule. In our system, for every Al Capone there is an Elliot Ness. And the system created them both.
Day to day infringements of minor liberties cannot be stamped out all together. That takes tyranny. Jihad (ISIL) attempts rigid Legalism like in the days of Confucius. (I told you all, these social constructs including religion, come from China, first. It is the way the North Hemi Origami of the Diaspora from Africa worked out.)
But, think, we don't even need law to keep some other citizen from harming us. Here we are sovereigns and we may stop a violator in certain circumstances as if we were the govt itself.
Why? WE ARE the govt itself. Citizen arrest, Lawful killing, right of self protection, no hate speech and the 9th Amendment combined, means we are actually and technically very Free, compare to the rest of this world.
And you are free to think we aren't. See how beautiful?
Ours is the system that is designed to balance itself from a 180 degree capsize, (she come BACK UUUUUP) It is not a system where there is never a wave, never a problem, no one is ever upset. No other system was thought through like this.
And in every single generation there are those like you, tye, and me that think it is totally down the tube. But, I broke though. I revisited as an adult what the system is designed to do. And then, as my right and duty as a citizen, I went through the history of our nation to see if it was always like this, but with different challenges and tools, of course. It totally was and is SNAFU by design.
It is our system and it works and everyone distrusts it. I do. And I have been knocked in the head for my trouble, but we pulled out of Nam.

You seem hypocritical. On one hand you demand the government strip the rights of the people regarding the internet yet on the other hand you declare from the highest tower that rights are not to be infringed.
