They go into it because everyone needs a fucking job if they don't want to be worthless piece of mooching shit, and teaching is something they enjoy, so boom, get paid to do something you love. You really think teachers work JUST to collect a paycheck? After 20 years fuckin eh right they are workin to make that retirement fat. But most teachers don't go into it for the money.

unfortunately, we'll never have societal model..
why do people contradict themself with reading the threadsocietal model does work and has been proven.
why do people comment without reading the thread?
You just don't understand science.Hold up, you're way underestimating the cost of a UBI.
300mill X 18,000 = approx 5.4 trillion a year
Current total budgeted welfare spending for fiscal year 2015 is around 500 billion. (That's State and Federal).
If you call a ten-fold increase in costs "roughly the same" then I've been giving you far too much credit all this time. (Just kidding, you can remain in my harem)
It would sure alter my budget!um, you're missing one component..taxes at 60% which will alter the budget demonstrably.
You have to be a real dumbass to think that this would benefit our countryI am all for a base income, all of you guys should be too if you really think about it. Corporations don't pay their fair share of taxes anymore and we are all supporting that.... we pay more for the corporations not doing their fair share than we do on the safety net programs that we have.
People would be in much better financial situations if they were getting a check every month. Imagine all the shit we could do with the extra free time.. like fix our cars, clean our houses, plant gardens, fix all kinds of broken shit.
It would cost us less to close the tax loophole and to give everyone a base income than it would to continue social security and wellfare.
You have to be a real dumbass to think that this wouldn't benefit our entire country.
You don't seem to have anything to support your proposition other than hatred and vile. Do you really expect anyone to be influinced by your posts?
wow, convincing rebuttal. You have to be a real dumbass to think that this would benefit our country
Trying to put words in my mouth? Sure, many teachers went into the trade for altruistic reasons. That last about two months. Then it just becomes a job babysitting your bratty kids. One many, if not most, will gladly leave if they don't need the paycheck. Once again, You don't seem to have anything to support your proposition other than hatred and vile. UBI would reduce your current tax burden by whatever the amount of the UBI.If I had to pay the taxes associated with this new system, I'd just stop working and let the people stupid enough to give away most of their paychecks break their backs. Today, I get to keep most of my check so I bitch and keep working. If someone else gets most of my check, well fuck working then.
Just mail me my check after your work day is done. I'll be at the beach.

Would you stop working if you received $1,500 from the gov. per month? If I had to pay the taxes associated with this new system, I'd just stop working and let the people stupid enough to give away most of their paychecks break their backs. I get the whole concept & why its a cheaper alternative but wouldnt it make more sense if there was a cut off point , people makin $500k a yr wouldnt even need or miss the $1,500 .What's difficult to understand about this pretty basic concept? Everyone is guaranteed an income whether they work or not and it's cheaper to provide than the current social safety net programs we use. Win/win

You are telling me people can't live on 1500 a month when there are places renting for 2 bedrooms 600 bucks? Might be in a shitty location but hey its low rent.Wait, why do you believe it's cheaper??? As a society we don't let people die on the streets now, (the concept behind social safety nets), why do you believe that just because we tossed them a 1500 a mo. bone, we'd be willing to do it then?
There are going to be people for whatever the reason can't earn any extra income; and they won't be able to live on 1500/mo..
So now what????
This is nothing more than a half baked idea ... there is no major country doing this. Denmark isn't even close. It's another "pothead" myth ... then there is Bernie.
