I'm not at all worried about the change to my power consumption...prepare to laugh...i only have a Mars II 400 led light in a 3x3 tent...only draws 282Watts. I did grow some tomato plants in it and it did well enough, so I'm hopeful it works for one plant.

a few years ago, the cops were in fact setting up outside of a some what local hydro store one state over from me, and they'd follow people home, then go through their trash to find evidence of a grow op and then bust people.. you might think you're being paranoid, but that's not always such a bad thing ime..

i just did a google search looking for an article a friend of mine had about the hydro store i'm talking about, but i didn't find a story about that one store, but there's more than one article i found via google on this happening..
i'm not saying i've never been to a hydro store, but i've never been to the one i know about cops following people home from and busting people, and when i do have to go, i always try and drive someone else's car and pay with cash as i don't live in a legal state, and i hate that it happens, but it does..

First off, many people grow a lot of diffrent things. My Father in law has a huge set up and none of its Cannabis.

Truly sorry for your wife's misfortune and your intentions are no doubt noble. The Mods. have done a remarkable job cleaning up ROI. Much of it's old character and dispicables are present and loitering in the area, I am chagrined to say I am one of them. Everyone and everything is fair game.

Don't talk about it. Don't put cannabis stuff in your trash. Grow flowers.

i completely agree with you white.. i never throw anything canna related out in the trash.. can never be too careful.. that's what dumpsters are for, lol..
and i never talk about anything but the tomatoes i'm growing when i do go into the hydro store with the guy, even though i'm some what friendly with him, all he knows is that i'm growing heirloom tomatoes, and i like to get them started indoors before moving outdoors..
as i said earlier, it's been more than a few years since i've heard about that one hydro store and people getting busted as a result of going to it, but from what little i do remember, i'm fairly sure that the simple fact that you went to the store wasn't enough to get you busted, it was just one way to get the cops to look into your actions a bit deeper, and i think it was a result of them digging through some people's trash after they followed them home.. i might be a bit fuzzy about the details though.. there was a pretty big write up in the local paper about a string of busts that resulted from the hydro store.. i think the owner(s) may have even been cooperating with the popo as well, but again, i'm not 100% sure on the details..
i did just recently drive right by the same store about 2 weeks ago, cut through their parking lot to get to the smoke shop, and i noticed the name has changed from what it was when people were getting busted.. i didn't go inside, just parked around the side of them and went and got my smokes.. i did wonder if they've changed ownership since then or what though..

Also. If. On the off chance that you do get busted. Keep in mind. You'll get far less of a kick up the arse for one big plant. Than you would several smaller ones.

Look around at all the other houses around you you can bet there's 14 other ppl growing and I'm sure it's more than one plant. Don't stress grow and be happy. Tell no one and be like batman and lurk in the shadows.

i tend to feel that if the cops are on here looking for you in order to get some dirt on you, more than likely they've already been on to you for some time and are only looking for more stuff to add on so they can tack on some more charges, so there's really no reason to be hiding you ip addy.. i've been on this site, and many other canna related sites for close to a decade now, and i've never heard of a single case of anyone getting busted for posting things about cannabis online only..
of course you always want to be smart about your online activities on canna sites, and not give up too much information about yourself, when posting pix delete any and all exif date before doing so, when posting pix of a grow don't show any identifying things about your place of residence, or any car that you may drive, things like that..
and of course don't draw any attention to yourself irl to draw the popo's eye to you in the first place.. don't sell out of your home if that's where you grow, don't have a lot of foot traffic coming and going into the grow, don't have any big parties that neighbors might call the cops for and complain about noise and have them knocking on your front door, don't get into fights with your room mates if you have any.. watch out for vengeful ex'es who might know about the grow and who would be willing to drop a dime on you out of revenge. keep the smell down, don't have your house glowing from the lights in any one room, so on and so on.. just use some basic common sense really..
