We are all here to share our experiences and see what others are doing.
I have not ruled out the Philips modules either, just sharing what they did in the circumstance I tested them in.
Installed at manufacturer recommended height they should have been able to start seedlings with not stretch directly below even a single module in my opinion.
That is just my opinion and what this thread is about - seeing what others are doing and what success or failure they are having with the products they are using
let's keep the info flowing and not get off track with bickering like the other led threads :hump:

But you didn't use to manufacturer spec because they aren't supposed o be used single. If you still have it set it up again and just move it closer you'll get good results. They aren't inefficient.

what kind of SF would you think a MH light could cover for lettuce anyway? Suppose you had a 1000w light

I'd say a 6x6 for lettuce should be easy with a 1K Blue MH.

I'm will be running a 600w Blue MH in my 3x3 again soon. And it is more than plenty for veg or flower in that space.

Philips dropped that Gen 1 module. I was not far off the recommendation. I think it was like 12" apart at the height I had it installed according to the "original" install info
I dropped that light like a hot cake. They are too expensive for what they are
The Transcend Product I feel is much better and will be what I try if I order any ready made led modules

Your picture you have that way too far for only one module

I feel like just our argument is weak because you didn't even use the fixture correctly. It misrepresents a quality product the way you show it off.

On the other side of this - weather my use was way far out of recommendation (which is was not) or not, what is the cost to fit a 4x4 tray with Green Power Modules?

Might be more efficient and cost effective in this application to check out the Quantum Boards that run the top bin Samsung Diodes.

A huge part of this comes down to the quality of the end product as well. Unfortunately we are unable to share and taste test each others product.
But, I am getting petty good at spotting off texture lettuce in photo and video. Lettuce should be tender, not have thick Chard like leaves - that is the trend I am seeing in most all of the led product so far

how long should I leave the lights on when your seeds first sprout? I have my seeds germinating under a 8 bulb, 4 foot t5 fixture. Its about 12 inches above the top of the germination tray

I'm not an expert, but I just leave them on 24 hours.

Why don't you do the calculation yourself if riunming cost over lifetime including replacement cost if bulbs.

And yes, you used the light not in accordance with manufacturer spec. You really should listen to what I'm trying to tell you.

You're purposefully trying to not learn how to use the Philips bars properly and spreading misinformation. That's not fair to everyone else.

So how do we go about buying quantum boards? Who manufacturers them? Is it a type of light system made by different manufacturers or is it just something that one company makes?
