To Trumpkins, Canada's success IS mocking them. They want to believe that lower taxes, prolific gun availability, medical care for only the ones who can pay for it out of their own pockets and so forth is the best way to go. Yet here is our neighbor quietly reading the paper, minding their own business and succeeding doing exactly the opposite.

It is a damn mockery of the Conservative States Of Amerika and Trumpkins won't have any of it.

I get that a lot of people believe guns and freedom are linked. The thing is, plenty of people live in countries with reasonable gun control laws and their freedom is no less than ours. We have a horrendous death rate due to guns, not including suicide, that in a way says we are less free to safely move about in the US because of guns.

As for the money/cost info you provided clearly a socialized system appears to cost the individual less if you're gonna leave out what they pay in taxes going towards the system duh. also you leave out the xtra cost a person with money pays if he wants care outside the system. meaning if i don't want to use the government because i cannot get the best treatment then the cost still falls on me so i am paying double in that case, and allot of ppl fall into these cases. if you had cancer are you gonna use your money to get the best treatment possible or just take what the canadian government says you can have? so in te end it is way way more expensive on the populace as a whole. if you look at the nuance not graphs designed with an agenda. plus i was refering to the COST of the system in totla not the individual's cost. aka the total money entering healthcare. this demonstrates the waste and inefficiency of a goverment funded social medicine system.

as to your other point it is popular because it is free so poor ppl all love it. allot of ppl with money, even middle class, can get their own private care still so they are largely uneffected by the negatives besides cost. then you have your left wing political types who make up half the population whom just think it's awesome they are "helping the poor" like most leer jet liberal types. of course those types do this in order to go about their excessive lives and not feel like pieces of shit. i just laid out like the majority of the population and why they would like it, but hopefully you can see how it doesn't speak to the quality of the system whatsoever. so that is how it can be popular and still be a bad idea.

We typically leave that for China, Saudi Arabia, etc. I’m not sure where your getting your info but it seems a bit skewed. As for the French versus English thing, the tension between the two was largely brought to the forefront by the desire to separate from Canada, that tends to create a bit of tension. It has pretty much been a mute point since the referendum. The newer generation of Canadians do not possess the same feelings as the older generation (yes that includes me in the latter group). When disparaging another country it is normal to use comparisons of the country you reside in, hense the rebuttal with the US as the model. If not to compare, what is your point. Do we have issues as well? Yes we do, Ontario just elected Trump lite (actually a tad less smart than Trump, now that’s sad), who has stolen the playbook from your boy.

have you ever even fucking been to Canada? i don't think you have. have you stopped for gas in a small town? they were all nice to me, no one was snarky...no one talked shit to me about America at all...even though it was pretty obvious i wasn't a Canadian.
i've been to Canada several times, and not one time did it have anything to do with cannabis (a point you made to discount my opinion earlier)...none of my interactions with Canadians has anything to do with cannabis....besides many trips to Canada, i have daily interactions with three of them....i play an mmo game, and they're in my guild. i voice chat with them daily, and have become kind of close with two of them. they're both professional people, well educated, one is a manager at a furniture factory, on works in the labs at a hospital. they don't say anything to support a single fucking thing you say, and neither have any Canadians i have ever had anything to do with.
i'm sure there are some Canadians who feels like you say they do.....i'm also sure that it's a very small percentage, not the overwhelming majority you seem to think....with no apparent reason
