hey maybe you guys have an opinion on this, I've been thinking about it for a few days now, but haven't done any research yet!

I was thinking about for the last week of flower to let the rez dry out completely and also maybe let the soil dry too! it won't hurt my soil life, bc right after it gets amended and cooked and i use teas to kick start the cooking!

few reasons 1 it would be so much easier to break it down if it's not fully full of water!
2 I had the idea that "drought" and Lil bit of stress right at the end could possibly trick the plant into trying to protect itself and creating more resin! what do yall think?

I run a different system than you but i always stop watering 4 to 5 days before cutting. I know there is a ton of varying opinions on this one but i personally always go 36 hrs of dark and reach in and just cut the bases before lights are turned on. Just sounds like it makes sense.

Wow man that's insane about the em1 destroying glue! Never heard of that before, but I also have no experience with it yet.
"One step at a time"
I do have a small torch seeing as this has been problem for me, u r saying just heating it up a tad may allow it to stretch a tad easier?

I would try that, but em1 is some serious stuff, it's completely made hot glue vanish in the past when I used it to hold the wick in place! with that on my mind I'm worried about using that then half way through flower and it dissolves next thing I know the entire grow room is flooded!

just not worth the risk, those things are like 6 bucks, and like i said I could use another worm bin anyway! nothing gets wasted man nothing!

I did not think it would take long for that WC to shoot back up. i am puffing on some Banana Berry distillate THC 88% thru a vape pen. smoking anything is to rough on my lungs( probable the 35 years of Mexican brick weed i smoked). I have been out in the garage checking out my new toy. I sure got a lot of studying to do to figure out how to drive this baby! This unit is from Lowtemp-plates out of Denver COView attachment 4284485
seriously so jelly of this press... I've had my eye on them for a few weeks now. definitely love their design... table top, pressure from below. Genius! Have fun and drive safely ;)

Menards had 18 gallon totes on sale this weekend. Picked up 4 for a 4x4.
Have to finish building my led strip light setup first. But right after that, I'm on to this project. Should be cool. Just not enough time in the day for everything I need to get done. lol
Like your avatar. Got you by 3 years 1973 for me.

4 for a 4x4 might be a tad over kill, in my opinion after seeing how they grow in 18g I'd do 2 or 3 and Scrog the 4x4!

Crap sorry i was thinking i was in the greemthumbs GG4 thread.
You were closer than I initally was, so it's all good. Lol

Anyways, I'm totally in to trying this. Everything looks great and many thanks to Greenthumbs for the time you've spent here! I'm in the process of building a 2.5' X 4' X 5'H "tent". I've been taking tons of pics and will do a build thread on it when I get some time. For this size, should I try a couple 18's or maybe just one plant in a 30?

I can Google it and get some ideas, but on your SCROG framework- do you have a few pics of it? I like how it's tied into the two cross pipes going through the tote. Is that really strong enough to support everything, or would you have rather done something freestanding?

BTW- it's nice not being the old fart on a forum for once. You guys are like dust compared to me! Lol j/k
