But to answer the question: yes - and no. Roger Waters suffers poor public opinion. And "Cancel Culture" is an illusion.

I will say that a government censoring speech is the only thing that does qualify as cancel culture to me. Otherwise it is just opinions as you said. I kind of think Germany is in the wrong, but well....like Israel...and tied to the reasons why...ehhhh...I can't really judge them.

Germany can be forgiven. Their Jan 6 worked, and the immediate consequences precipitated twelve years of hell and anguish. They’re justifiably proactive about discouraging a recurrence.

Our course along similar lines is still hanging in the balance, to judge by the fantastic* vitriol coming from overthrow party leadership.

*in the old sense of divorced from reality, not the new one of amazingly cool

Speaking of “war-torn countries”…Germany has taken a no-exceptions stance on Nazi platforming since the war…and for all the reasons you might imagine, given what happened when they were more tolerant of it; also, given what happened HERE because WE DIDN’T crack down on slavers, the slaver economy, and the religious/racist/economic thought machine that made it all seem legit to us for another 175 years after THEY LOST THE FIGHT…and went home to betray everything they said they stood for after they lost

Don’t forget that Hitler was a famous admirer of US/Confederate slavery…but without enough Africans, he used (((them)))

But that's the kicker isn't it? They THINK he does but there is no evidence. None. Can you finally provide some? Been 9 pages and none supplied so far. The German court found none either.
It would be also very strange for a boy to have his farther killed by Nazis turn around and support Nazis. Not impossible but highly unlikely.

Roger Waters wrote most of the tracks for the Wall so criticizing one criticizes the other. The Wall may as well be described as a Roger Waters rock Opera.

And they tried to have his show (The Wall) cancelled. You seem to keep missing that bit. So yes they (the bunch of Karen's) do think it supports Nazis. The real question is who is behind the smear campaign? Is it Israel?

As i said earlier Its a bunch of Karen's with no thought control- which is ironic.

Judging from his comments Sativa supports Israel's crimes and actions and is against Freedom of speech in a democracy. Its his right to think that and have the freedom to say it even if its abhorrent to those who are more liberal thinkers.
He and Rodger haven't been able to provide any proof of Waters support of fascism and hatred of the Jewish people and either did the German court.
I'll add I'm very surprised by Sativas views. It doesn't seem to gell with his usual "fair suck of the sav" view points.

Those who think The wall supports the Nazi's are silly. One viewing and its easy to tell its not.

Those who think that Cancel culture is not trying to cancel Waters then you haven't been following along. The real question is who is behind it and why?

I wouldn't usually get hung up on a debate over whether or not a comment is strawman or not. But Sativa seemed to be using the term quite liberally to try and gain superiority while obviously being very guilty of it himself.

I don't really know much about this person but he obviously has some heavy right leaning views when it comes to justifying Israel's abhorrent treatment of the native Palestinians.

I think sativa has some kind of personal connection to this conversation which would explain his emotional bias.

please be specific. What has been "cancelled" that is harming society? Are you saying that society pressuring against white men gratuitously insulting people in minority groups and women is damaging society? If so, explain how. Because I think that making it unacceptable to insult people simply because they are different from an arbitrary social norm is progress.

Most of the posters here are American and America haven't a great track record lately of supporting woman's rights. America obviously supports Israel and are their biggest supporter therefore supportive of Israel's war crimes and occupation. Anyone against that is the enemy.

I'm supportive of men being able to dress up as women (and vice versa) but they should not be able to compete as women- That makes no sense morally or competitively. Its not a fair wicket. Happy for a trans to enter their chosen sport and wear the opposite genders uniform if it suites them in their correct sex's competition.
