How do they make the curved leading edge?

(edit) from the close-up earlier this page, maybe from several skew-cut (beveled?) strips of the flat board
They cut a series of parallel V shaped groves on the inside of the curve, fill them with hot glue and gradually bend it over the wing ribs to form the leading edge and wing and the top surface follows the forming ribs, add a spar and ya got a wing. If the flat pack is machine cut, assembly is easy and done with hot or crazy glue. The surfaces can be laminated with light 2" packing tape to greatly increasing strength and durability, also helps with drag. Even high school kid volunteers could assemble them, and the wing goes on in the field when the battery goes in. A phone with an app can be used to plug into the FC via USB so the GPS coordinates can be loaded, simple and quick, no fucking around starting a petrol engine.

It seems those drones are made from foam core board, the same stuff ya buy at the dollar store and a common material used to build RC planes. It costs about the same as cardboard and can be punched out in large numbers by the same equipment used to make cartons or it can be laser cut.

No, not foam board. Here is some bits and pieces I have spending time in a shed in case I ever get back to it. The top using the foam board as a tail surface, cut out a strip on one side and the other side acts as a hinge for the elevator. A mini outline style build (missing the dual tail surfaces which should be on the other side) where the paper on the foam board is removed to reduce weight. Below is a wing made by bending the board with the paper removed, a few ribs and spars.

I think they could have perforated the inside surface with slots routed out so it can bend. Thinking they probably have CNC slots cut out in every rib location and the cardboard pieces 'snap' together. A dab of hot melt glue (common to repair crashed airplanes until they are too heavy to fly well, these were originally built to fly against each other in combate with a streamer out back) to keep it all together in a minute. Or even bits of packing tape. Packing tape has been used on foam models as an outer skin to stiffen up a foamy (what they are called).

White House warns Russia, North Korea weapons negotiations are ‘actively advancing’
The Biden administration said Wednesday it had new intelligence demonstrating that arms negotiations between Russia and North Korea are “actively advancing.”

White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby warned Pyongyang to not provide military support to Russia for its war in Ukraine, saying it would “directly violate a number of U.N. Security Council resolutions.”

The U.S. has imposed sanctions on individuals and entities it says have facilitated weapons transfers from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), the formal name for North Korea, to the Wagner Group, a mercenary army that has been fighting for Russia.
The White House said that it has not yet observed North Korea directly supplying Russia’s armed forces.

“On numerous occasions, the DPRK has said publicly that they will not sell to Russia, but we remain concerned that the DPRK continues to consider providing military support to Russia’s military forces in Ukraine,” Kirby said in a briefing with reporters.
Russia is looking to source artillery ammunition and raw materials for its own weapons-building capabilities in an effort to subvert U.S. and international sanctions aimed at starving its military industry.

“We’re continuing to monitor this situation closely and we urge the DPRK to cease its arms negotiations with Russia and abide by the public commitments that Pyongyang has made to not provide or sell arms to Russia,” Kirby said.
The security council spokesperson said he could not get into the details of how the U.S. was gathering this intelligence. Kirby said that the “secret” arms negotiations build on recent public shows of support between Russia and North Korea.

This includes an exchange of letters between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korea’s leader Kim Jung Un in April where the two pledged to deepen the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
In July, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu traveled to Pyongyang for North Korea’s celebration marking the 70th anniversary of the armistice agreement with South Korea.

Kirby said this visit helped lay the groundwork for a follow-up trip by Russian officials to Pyongyang to discuss potential arms deals, and that “high level discussions may continue in coming months.”

Kirby said that Russia is seeking multiple types of munitions but is focused on increasing artillery supplies for use in Ukraine as the Kremlin’s full-scale invasion and occupation of the country enters its 19th month.
A second counter offensive launched by Ukrainian forces in June has proceeded slower than anticipated, encountering dug-in Russian defenses and wide swaths of mine fields that U.S. and European officials say present a challenge that has never been seen before.
In July, the U.S. announced it would send cluster munitions to Ukraine to fill up depleted stocks of ammunition.

Kirby on Wednesday said Russia is suffering the same types of shortages amid the grinding war and is looking to North Korea to fill up their stocks.
“What we’re seeing in this counter offensive is, it’s a gunfight, and both sides are blazing away with artillery. So we know that artillery is one of those items, but it’s multiple levels of types of munitions.”

Thre is no reason they couldn't use cardboard for some of it, but foam board is lighter. They can automate production of the flat packs quite a bit and reduce the manual labor to assemble them. It has been a DIY material to build RC planes for years and there are hundreds of plans and build videos online, many free. A country like Ukraine could order up large sheets of custom material and stamp them out in large quantities, for volunteers to assemble the airframes. The electronics are the secret sauce, motors batteries and servos are cheap and can be applied by the experienced volunteers. Dirt cheap and amazingly effective until countered and they could be used on more low value targets too. HIMARS and GPS rounds are fine, but expensive as Hell and sometimes in short supply. If they can destroy 10s of millions of dollars' worth of their largely irreplicable planes and equipment for around $500 to $10,000 a pop, then they should burn through the Russian stockpiles. They claim to be making 10K FPV drones a month as an example, and we have seen how effective they can be in costing the Russians tanks, APCs, trucks and other equipment. Unfortunately the Russians are learning too and being supplied by the Chinese, but I don't think they can adapt as quickly as Ukraine and will face a lot more EW than the Ukrainians.

I bought a couple of foamies for around a hundred bucks a NANO TALON and a wing, special foam and they are tough as nails, hot glue works miracles with them.

Kremlin says Prigozhin crash may have been ‘deliberate’
The Kremlin on Wednesday said the plane crash that killed the head of the mercenary Wagner Group could have been done deliberately.

Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for Russian President Vladimir Putin, told reporters “deliberate wrongdoing” is among the causes Russian investigators are considering in the crash last week that killed Wagner head Yevgeny Prigozhin, The Associated Press reported.

“It is obvious that different versions are being considered, including the version — you know what we are talking about — let’s say, a deliberate atrocity,” Peskov told reporters when asked about the investigation, according to Reuters.

Prigozhin was killed when a flight he was taking from Moscow to St. Petersburg went down under mysterious causes last week. All 10 people on board were killed in the crash.

The Wagner Group leader in July led a short-lived march against the Russian military, and speculation he could be assassinated has since run rampant.

U.S. officials, including President Biden, have openly hinted at the possibility that Putin could be behind Prigozhin’s death. The Kremlin has denied involvement in the crash.

“Now, naturally, there are many speculations over this plane crash and the tragic death of the passengers, including Yevgeny Prigozhin,” Peskov said Friday, according to state-run media outlet TASS.

"But we do not kow if it was God that deliberatly done it or

Here is my nano talon, it has a mapping camera bay too. This is a thread I created here for RC and drone types.

Talon from the 80's. I have an un-built one in its box in the shed. All balsa though.

Tell me these people aren't freaking out and going nuts, they are doing it for a reason. Many Russian baby boomers in the elites have fond memories of the old Soviet Union, Vlad is not alone in pining for the imperial past. The propagandists have been freaking out for a while now and Russia recently ramped up its cyberwarfare. They are losing and near the breaking point in some places I figure, and the Ukrainians are breaking through their lines, though at great cost, their casualties have been higher while attacking the toughest part. They have been putting the heat on Russia in several places and making methodical progress in the south, their main thrust of attack.

Many in Russia's elite fear what is coming in Ukraine and a collapse of their front.

he seems upset

The fire was extinguished by 65 people, they used 21 pieces of equipment.

At night, Russian air defense systems went off near the central bay of Sevastopol. They repelled the drone raid. The attack lasted an hour. There is currently no exact data on downed drones, reports RT .

After a massive night attack by drones, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continued to launch drones. So, one UAV hit an administrative building in Bryansk, a fire broke out. Almost an hour later, a TV tower in the Bryansk region came under attack. The Russian air defense system shot down two enemy drones.

Estonian Defense Minister: Russian army fires 10 times more shots than APU
The RF Armed Forces fire ten times more shots per day in the NMD zone than the Ukrainian army. This was told by the Minister of Defense of Estonia Hanno Pevkura.

“Russian artillery fires ten times more shots per day than Ukrainian,” — conveys words Pevkura Tagesschau. He added that there is concern about the high ammunition deficit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Estonian Defense Minister also expressed his disappointment with the slow delivery of artillery shells from the EU countries to Ukraine. Despite the promise to deliver a million shells, only 226,000 have been delivered so far.

Pevkura stressed that Russia is significantly superior to the EU countries in the production of artillery weapons. Without a major restructuring of their military-industrial complex, the EU countries have practically no opportunity to compete with Russia in the production of ammunition and weapons, the Estonian Defense Minister concluded.

Earlier, adviser to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Mikhail Podolyak, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had a significant shortage of weapons for combat operations. Podolyak noted that the shortage of weapons is significant and creates problems in achieving parity in hostilities.

The drones said to be used.

Ukrainian designed "Beavers", bigger bang and real long range. Dunno why they use wheels though cat launching them should increase payload and there would be less drag and weight. These too can be mass manufactured in a warehouse by Ukraine, especially with Polish help. They could crank them out like an American WW2 bomber factory, probably for under $10K and 10kg or 20 kg of HE makes one Helluva bang.

They will want more land than that, Russia ripped them off for the pacific coast and a lot of turf in the east, in the middle of the 19th century, long after the UK took Hongkong, and they gave that back. One day Russia will be weak and independence movements will spring up... If they keep going like they are in Ukraine Russia will be very weak in a year or less. China is increasing its grip on Vlad's balls and are the only game in town for many vital needs the Russia debt to them increases.
