Yes for sure depends on the bud structure though. Softer buds seem to mush for me in those bowls. Anything rock hard works great tho.
Which bowl trimmer do you have??
It mushes from stop starts (static coefficient of friction). I get my electrical trimmer whirring and dump in my buds and they roll quickly without 'mushing' for me anyway LOL ymmv. You want it quick enough the sticky doesn't keep sticking to the metal screen and tearing them apart. So a brisk turning that never stops then open the discharge chute. It's not at all intuitive and took me a bit to get it down.

i hate it soo much that after i fill the fridge i hang dry the rest untrimmed and press it in oil XD
All my larf goes into a bag in the freezer for bubble hash, then I press it.

You have all the cool toys lol
I have a tabletop trimpro knockoff it's good for certain applications but not always.

I've always been against the amount of molestation the fingers do, but truthfully, it doesn't make much of a difference one way or the other other than time and ease of use unless you're turning it too many times

okej soo you put them in wet?
and what do you mean with bud structure depends?
Yeah wet, though it has a blade for dry, I've never tried it, wouldn't want to roll dry bud around.

Well , by bud structure I mean if you had a strain which always has spindley foxtails it probably would lose some if that.

It's never done me any wrong though since I bought it.
What's in the bowl is just sugar leaf.

I believe you can change the blade to a wire and dry trim as well. At least on other machines like that you can. Buds have to be fresh picked, any wilting or water loss in the bud can make it mush quick and just 'trim' the whole bud right into the bottom with the sugar leaf.
True, when it's fresh it's all proud and goes through the gaps in the mesh nice.

Yeah, when I look at the finger hash and scissors hash comparing to by hand or machine I dont think there's any difference

Little tip for anyone using a tabletop trimmer like myself, with the spinning blade and fan that sucks air down through it like a trimpro tabletop. I bend the fan blades under the cutting blade down more and get better air draw downwards.

Smokes the same to me.... That's the true test. I mean you're handling them holding on to them with your hands etc while hand trimming, so no matter what it's getting molested.
I used to be so frugal with sugar leaves, larf....so particular with it touching the bud as little as possible while trimming...now I really could care less.

Im finding they knock a TON of heads even wet trimming. I had less sift from trim that was hand trimmed. I even thought my strain Im working with right now yields up to 20% flower rosin but that was hand trimmed.

Its actually 11-12% but the dry sifting of say one 7oz plant yielded 4oz trim but… 10gs sift?! It barely has sugar leafs. Its a treat though, its my best part of the harvest. The real cookie jar.

Yea I just cut the whole plant into a pile then feed it into the trimmer. Its trimmed 2 pounds by now no cleaning needed yet. Just quickly pull it out and back.

I could be wrong Im a newbie but I think so because when removing colas from netting just the slightest scrape… Dust in the wind with trichs.

Omg lol thats not the best example. My 2x4 results came in, 8gs sift from 3.25 oz 3oz trim. If you saw my plant its wild results its not very sugary like my other plant im not running.

You're right, in saying that with rosin, or bubble hash (whatever concentrate) you might see a slightly diminished yield but I dont think it would make or break the run by any means. Theres always loss, no matter what. It's all about how much loss you feel comfortable with loosing vs time/bandwith available. Personally, to me it doesn't make enough of a difference to spend the amount of time needed to carefully trim. It's usually only me, and my wife helps as much as she can when she has the time and I'm on day 3 now with only 4.5 hrs of sleep and going into my day job still too boot. So to get an extra partial % or small % per run really doesn't matter to me. But everyone's different.

Oh I was actually praising it like I said I press the sift and its essentially hash rosin. Since Im doing flower rosin I do chottle to save bags I dont overthink it. It can have bits of plant here and there. Its gonna have lipids etc anyway.

Whats killing me is now knowing air drying Im losing so much goodness. I really want to get a freeze drier or else its meh. I want to become a real hash daddy some day. All bubble just like all the nugsmasher videos.

But yea theres always some left behind. I tried second pass sift got 11gs pressed that and it wasnt as good. Bad yield and rank taste. Better for edibles?

Yea just get the best round of fattest heads loaded with oil. Then vape just that. Green crack lol. Is full melt really not leave residue? Because I remember hearing to just wash good enough to dab it.

I tried using sifted trim for edibles not worth it burned stomach. Its all about that pure quality.

Yea full melt from good quality herb can be dabbed with little to no residue. I still press it though.

That's the better ends of the 5x5. Had some issues with heat and humidity had to cut out some bud rot and toss a few massive colas, then wash the rest with hypochlorous acid, adding to the time it takes to harvest..... Grrrr. I usually don't take things so late into the summer but timelines were a little messy last season with health issues and the like.
Still got a bunch of larf left in there that I'll just freeze and make bubbs then press it, and make some live bho (the bees knees)
Onto the 3x3!!! I keep procrastinating and sitting here in my trim chair on my phone taking harvest pics instead of trimming .... Lmao. Did I mention I HATE TRIMMING??!?!!?!!?!
