Irish Boy's 2011 Spectra Led Grow (Revenge Of Casey Jcnes))

what people dont get is that HPS lamps and hoods will generally have a larger footprint then LED, however the LED concentrates a lot of light in one area. they may get 1 bigger plant from a 180, but a 400 with several even sized plants would prob be best.
agreed. but i will say my 1k of leds will match the same size of 1k of HPS. but talking about a single smaller light source that is true. i have never seen a 180w match a 400w hps and ive been doing this for a long time. now like u said maybe 1 plant under the 180w match the yield of one plant under a 400w but in a true side x side using both lights in the size they can grow i think the 400w will take it every time. i know allot of company's claim this but i think its BS until i see some proof in pics.

now if were talking about a few smaller watt units then they can match HPS foot print watt for watt if u get the right leds

i am not saying its impossible for a 180w to match a 400w hps, but i havent seen it. the only way to say this is to do a side x side with everything the same, not with different strains from older grows or ect..

mind showing a pic of ur old HPS compared to ur led grow? i have yet to see a led light do this and have pics of both grows supporting this.
I don't have pics of old grows, sorry. I only recently started documenting my led grows, and I haven't used a 400w hps for years. But I do stand by my evaluation, and that's ok if you have your doubts.

yer i see your points irish.. I mean i have been researching like hell and understand cheap units give small output for watt. I would be looking for around 4-6 pound per crop ( alot i know! ) and need a set-up that can meet them requirements. GLH seems to do the job as far as your aware ?

ive pulled over a pound with 4 plants with 600w unit and that was their 1st units sold. it was like 19oz from 4 plants. ive also pulled 2liter size buds in the summer with the older lights as u can see in my avatar pic. this is my 1st run with the new model lights so we will see what i can do in thee 100F+ temps i am having?

you will get more coverage from more smaller units and be able to do more plants. it would be best to talk to the company about this. i would look into either the 180's or the 290's for sure

I see well thats great watt per gram ratio. How long did you veg/flower for those results and nutes at what strength. have you tried out the 290's what results/yields have you achieved. Is the quality of the bud noticeable, sorry for all the questions, just im looking to invest in LED

I love 2 liter sized buds! I'm working on some now but I don't know if they will match yours lol. Dude you should throw another something else in that box and see what happens. I would be worried it was perhaps the strain.

i dont use GPW i dont like that method so never really looked at that. its very un accurate.

i vegged for 3 weeks like always. use the GH Lucas formula. ive never used the new 290w. the only lights ive used of the new ones is on this grow with the 500's. i am about to trade out next week for the 290's though, but it will only be threw flowering since i already vegged these girls. so we will have to wait until next grow to get a full grow and have better temps since its hot as hell over here. but ive used the 1st gen 600w light, then ive always used the 300's from 2010. i loved my 300's. quality has always been insane on my buds with these leds, not sio much with past company's ive used. if u look on my links of grows on the bottom i have that 600w grow posted. i have allot more grows on the web that are allot bigger and more detailed (i put more work in my threads when i have more posters) just Google my name and u will find a ton of grows that are very detailed and packed with info

my box is full it would hurt yield to throw more plants in their. too dense i would actually pull a plant or 2 if anything. i am not worried about yield and more though. i am all about quality and thats what i am after.

but ya these 2liter buds were fun and their was allot of them.lol

Not so concerned about yield but rather just making them flower aggressively. Have you taken steps to deduce that it is not the strain that might be the issue?

i am pretty sure it was my fault by under feeding them, trying to keep it low so i dont over do it in the 110F temps. they were also getting light feedings on Mag witch will do that. i am sure the crazy high temps are effecting the strain. they seem to be in flower mode now so thats good.

its hard to read your post because i just keep looking at that nice ass in you avatar pic.lol

theirs so many grows ive done with these leds i wouldn't even know what to,post? all the link that were on this forum are right their in my sig right below. Google irishboys led grows and u will find a ton of threads.

i used HPS for a long time, but i cant grow in these summer heat with it and i get better results and quality with these leds. i dont save any money really because i run higher watts of leds also, so its about the same. now on that 600w grow i saved money because i got more yield from those 4 then i have gotten under 1k of HPS. but that's wasn't a side x side so theirs no hard core proof and i dont like to make claims with no side x side proof. i just had great results on that grow with the 600w led. quality is also crazy. heres some random quality pics.
