All strains are heavier on the indica side. I have problems keeping the temp down while they are in the dome.. Temp inside the tent is about 76-78 depending on what time it is. Just inside the dome is hotter.
My bad... I must have not been reading right.... If they are in dome you are at perfect temps.. I thought it was the temp in side your tent...

Good work man. Only advice, stick to your flouros for a while, those babies need to be strong before they get blasted with 600w. Its a 300w HPS and a 300w MH in the same bulb right?

Yes sir! Its the AgroMax hybrid bulb if you care to look! I also have a dimmable ballast so would that be an okay option? I get the feeling they will grow very nice with that mixture..

Should be fine, but I'm not 100% sure how it would like to be dimmed. since it's basically an hps bulb in the eyes of the ballast, running it at the full 600 should be no prob even on digital. What brand is the ballast?

Looks like a decent digital. If you do dim the 600, I wouldn't go any lower than the 75% setting. The more you dim or brighten the bulbs out of spec the more color shift and spectrum degradation you get. You might be best vegging under the flouro for about 3 weeks to a month, transplanting to 2 gal or whatever...wait a few days for the roots to get re-established and then move them under the 600w.

I move my plants from 400w flouros to 1000w and they don't seem to mind a bit. But they are also vegged about 6 weeks and are 15-18" tall with lots of mass so they are ready to handle all that light.

Back in the day I went from about 100w of shoplight to 600w of HPS in a closet with no problems, again clones vegged about 4 weeks so they were growing well already.

With the size of my tent I was thinking about vegging to about that. (15-18") Do you think thats a good size? Tent is 6'7" tall

Yeah the sativas will stretch more then then indicas, so be prepared for that with support (stakes, cages, nets, something) in flower. 12-15" should be a good point for you to flower with the # of plants you have. Taller isn't better because anything more than about 3 feet and you just don't get much penetration with indoor HID lighting... Tiny buds and small shoots that should just be removed to help divert energy to the valuable tops. Also when you switch to 12/12 some strains might double or tipple in height. So 15" could be come 45, be prepared lol

Lmao! Not so sure 45" would be good for that tent! Lol, I literally can't imagine my girls growing up yet. Im just now starting to chill out a bit and not peek in the tent every 20 minutes! I really do know what people mean when they say you get a connection with them as you nurture them! Very relaxing to come home and see what they have done throughout the day.

Turn that HPS on full throttle and don't let off... I get my lights as close as 12 inches.. Any closer it might burn the plants...

Have dimmables and only dim if i am straying leaves with Blast Off & Super Thrive Combo

Will do. Also, I am having a bit of an issue keeping the humidity up and was wondering if I should take them out of the dome and just run a humidifier in the tent? I got the temp controlled now and its between 78-84 now, moving the light an inch helped a lot. Jw if that would be a better idea I guess. Thanks

i stopped worrying about humidity years ago. i still have a humidifier in a box from years ago.

our low humidity is what it is. the plants do fine. would they do better if the humidity was ideal? sure, but in my opinion, not by much. if you want to bump it up, buy a humdifier. cheap and easy!

Same here I was a worry wart in my first runs and bought 2 humidifiers for my vegging. I stopped using them a year ago. The plants grow fine without the 60% humidity. remember cannabis can be grown in some crazy places. I mean in Afghanistan they grow that shit everywhere and their climate is just as dry if not drier than AZ climate.

Also Scup buy a small desk fan with a clip on it so you can clip it to your lights have that fan blow hot air away from your lights so your plants get all the light but not the heat.

Agreed

Not reall an issue if a small grow... But if you are above 75% I would worry about controlling it... Mold

I have a small 6" clip on fan that is blowing heat away from the light, a 29" tower fan oscillating in the corner to move air around, and now I have about 4 inches of ducting coming through the back of the tent for my intake which is blowing by the lights as well :) temps are at 78 right now
