BLOOMINGTON — Two men were injured in an accidental shooting Saturday morning at the ECA Gun and Knife Show at Bloomington’s Sale Barn.
An attendee at the show was handling a mini-14 semiautomatic rifle at about 11:15 a.m. As the patron was laying the rifle back on a vendor table, the gun accidentally discharged, said McLean County Sheriff Mike Emery.
“The round went through a post, through a person and then into another person,” Emery said.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Police said a shooting at a gun show at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds appears to have been an accident. Investigators said a vendor was showing someone a gun that still had a round in the chamber. The customer was handling the gun when it fired, hitting the vendor's teenage son in the leg.

That gun fired because someone pulled the trigger, it didn't discharge on its own. But the gun show officials didn't do their job if they didn't check each and every single gun that comes into the show.

No one killed, minor injuries.

Ireland has a population of 4,481,000 people, of which 57 were killed by firearm last year. meaning about 1 in 78,614 people in ireland die by firearm. Contrast this with the 11,207 people gunned down in the USA. The USa has a population of 320 million meaning that 1 in 28,553 died by firearm. You are 2.7 times more likely to be shot to death in the USA. Gun Crime isn't really that serious here, poor diet and tobacco kill about 850,000 Americans each year.

The cheeseburgers and Marlboro's kill 75 times as many people as Guns do. I would say we have a Cheeseburger and Smoking problem.
