I would not be agreeable to Martin climbing aboard to do an MMA-style ground and pound post-decking though, and guess what, Florida's SYG law would make it perfectly acceptable for Z to use lethal force in exactly the situation you describe.

yet somehow, he was able to just go ahead and achieve wrist control and free both his hands no problem.

question: if he was able to achieve wrist control so easily, why not just do that? that would have stopped the assault right there.

i live in magic land, where a fight in which i am decked MMA style 25-30 times and have my head slammed on the concrete for nearly a minute while i am being suffocated results in a teensy weensy little tiny scrape on my dome.

these out of control negroes also have eyes in the back of their heads so as to see my totally concealed weapon and fight with the strength of three dozen ultimate fighters once having smoked the reefer.

C) Martin was using his hand or hands in an attempt to impede Zimmerman's breathing. Hence the use of the word "suffocating" by Zimmerman. Zimmerman is resisting the attempt as we would expect anyone to do, by trying to dislodge Martin's hands. Zimmerman is screaming for help on and off as Martin's hands are dislodged and reapplied.

This is perfectly believable unless you are trying to say that Zimmerman's use of the word "suffocate" instead of "attempted suffocation" means that Zimmerman is claiming Martin's hands never came away from his mouth. Since Zimmerman would OBVIOUSLY know that would involve his own death, I think it's fair to say he meant Martin ATTEMPTED UNSUCCESSFULLY to suffocate him.

Anyone with any sense can see how a person could scream DURING a failed suffocation attempt. Just because Zimmerman assumed the cops knew the attempt was unsuccessful by the fact he's sitting there talking to them, and used the description "suffocated" instead of talking to them like they are fucking morons and spelling out "failed suffocation attempt", doesn't mean anything other than UB is trying like hell to validate his premature presumption of guilt.

On the suffocation question... Have any of you readers been completely out of breath after running a mile, or being in an extremely stressful situation where you are getting your ass beaten and your head pounded into the pavement, say, and then tried to hold your breath for even one breath? Can you imagine what it would feel like if somebody clamped their hand over your mouth and nose for two or three seconds when your body is in an oxygen deprived state like that? The word, "suffocation" comes to mind.

"MMA style" are the words of an eye witness, not mine, and not "people". Lead investigator Serino described Zimmerman's injuries as "marginally life threatening". I am no expert, but "marginally life threatening" sounds like it might have ended Zimmerman's life, or put him in a coma, or caused great bodily harm, which sounds like the sort of situation that warrants using lethal force in defense of one's life. That is the whole "attachment to reality" thing.

You sitting in the comfort of your living room and describing Martin's "kidpunches" is just a bit less convincing to me.
