Superthrive debate...

I bought Superthrive when I first started growing.
yeah, newb mistake...

It was about week 3 or 4 of veg and I was looking for a nice "UP"
and was not using any other nutrients at the time....
I literally used only ONE drop of Superthrive in one gallon of spring water...
and all of my otherwise healthy plants, died.

I'm sure there's a proper way to use it..and I should have been checking my Ph... but damn.. not worth the risk IMO...
all of it's 'claims' are not really backed by anything...
When I buy nutrients...they are all listed in a 'guaranteed analysis' on the side of the bottle...
not so with Superthrive....

Only time to check the water, is when you want to know the ph of the water, also good to know what's in your home tap water has in it too. I grow in soil, and never check ph in my water no more, as I know what ever's my ph is my soil. The soil will buffer the waters ph back to my soils ph.

Why would I check my tap water? I dont even drink my tap water, much less feed it to my plants!!

As soon as I got a Ph tester and started checking and adjusting my nutrient solution, I saw immediate and rapid growth.
I don't grow in straight soil btw.. I'm at about 1/3 perlite, 1/3 vermiculite, 1/3 soil....
My soil Ph usually starts around 6.5...same as my spring water..
but when I add nutes my water Ph lowers (more drastically with flowering nutes than the veg ones)
so I have to adjust...or I get some crazy shit happening after 3+ weeks in flower...

I also just found this very interesting tid bit about SuperThrive on it's Wiki...

"The sale of Superthrive is prohibited in Oklahoma, Minnesota and Oregon as an unregistered pesticide."

The stupid thing is that the "scientific data" does show that it does in fact contain
nutrients that may be beneficial to the plants but people choose not to see that.

No one is suggesting it is a cure all wonder supplement but rejecting it as though
it does absolutely nothing and calling people dumb for using it is pretty ignorant.

The science in the data proves it.
I think you need to go and re-read that, Champ

Your argument is like saying that if you somehow grew a plant inside a bottle of superthrive, adding more superthrive would still make it grow better.

This guy is actually on his period - stick a tampon in it mate - absolute loser
Hahaha and look at this fucking remedial.

and this from the Wiki too...kind of like a 'here's your sign"

" The packaging does not claim to have any N-P-K (macro-nutrient fertilizer) or trace minerals."

No "Champ" I did not say that.
I was clear in what I said, I did not say anything
that was easily turned into what you suggested.

Troll along snotboy.

no, what you said, was. If your a noob grower and screw up your soil, adding some superjive is a good idea. which it isn't.

Thats right but it does have thiamine which as the research posted shows does benefit plants.
No one here said it does everything the packaging states, but to completely dismiss it as useless
is not right either.

I still think this is some of the most damning evidence against it...considering it's been around since the 40's....
certainly ANYONE trying to grow 100% organic would laugh at this crap and move on....

anyone else willing to try it....good luck with that...
you can get a quart of real nutrients with 'guaranteed analysis" for almost the same price!...or a Ph test kit ...
but you know...I'm just throwing that out there

I have used it, it works well for me in side by sides. Most noticeable to me is that stems are thicker and stronger. I know b1 helps my plants and at least 4 other growers I know. IMO, anyone who can work up this much slander/hate must have some interest to protect in a rival company or needs more to occupy their day. My last run (inside) a single plant yeildes 830 grams, yes I used superthrive, did it lead to the huge yield? Maybe. Did it hurt my plant? absolutely not one bit.

this is cool though, because my daughter is doing a superthrive vs. miracle grow plant food vs. brita water vs. tap water. for science right now. The brita is doing the best and already popped out a few flowers. she has a flat of 8 hydrangeas or something. But as far as root examination,,,,she hasnt gotten their yet. project due in 2 weeks.

you should add another fertalizer besides miracle grow vs superthrive

mainly because Superthrive is not a fertilizer! its a growth hormone!!
and because MG has a SUPER high amount of N in it.. so it's going to show GREAT results with stuff like grass...
and be WAAAYYY too strong for stuff like Orchids...

Theres one common one at most hardware stores... Bonnies 8-4-4... green jug...
I'd like to see that against MG

you're an idiot, grandma used it, great data genius
Lmao, says the guy that pulls scientific data and uses only a portion to support
his argument.... Then he tries to rewrite other peoples posts to further insult his
own intelligence.

Nice try chuck, your data proves it has it's use.

Chuck.... no one is saying that you are a dumb ass idiot. They are just disagreeing with your opinions. You are in your mid 40's Chuck. Stop being hostile to others with different opinions. It gets us all no where. People want to learn about this topic. No one learns anything through hostility.
