Will a wild carnivore stop and ask itself whether it should eat that human lost in the wilderness, questions it's own motives based on it's moral center...

wild (w
ld)adj. wild·er, wild·est
1. Occurring, growing, or living in a natural state; not domesticated, cultivated, or tamed: wild geese; edible wild plants.
2. Not inhabited or farmed: remote, wild country.
3. Uncivilized or barbarous; savage.

4.
a. Lacking supervision or restraint: wild children living in the street.
b. Disorderly; unruly: a wild scene in the school cafeteria.
c. Characterized by a lack of moral restraint; dissolute or licentious: recalled his wild youth with remorse.

I understand the reasons why most vegans eat what they do but I don't pass judgement on them for doing so...I was under the impression we have a choice, so why would my choice be worse/better than yours.

Why do people think a plant does not live?
Plants do live... your point? The way nature is designed, many plants actually spread their seeds by being eaten because animals will eat the fruit (and seeds) and then poop them out in soil elsewhere, producing even more of that plant. Raising animals to eat them also kills off more plant life because you need to feed all these animals plant-based foods instead of eating them yourself.

There's a reason vegetarians live longer... they put life into their bodies while meat eaters put death into their body.

funny how the meat eating women of my family that were farmers in this country all lived to be in their 90s. Im pretty sure the oldest living man in the US was not a vegetarian as well. Jprin quit acting lile you care about people's welfare when your next step is going to be joining A.L.F.

What does that even mean? The meat eating women of your family also probably lived in much healthier environments than you'll find today and probably also ate a lot of fruits and veggies given that they were farmers. Blue zone places are places where people seem to have longer lifespans than the rest of the world and they all consume mainly plant-based diets.

I have done a lotlotlotlotlotLOT of research in animal slaughter and have actually visited a number of "free range" slaughter houses as well as the typical ones. In america, the conditions aren't nearly as bad as PETA or other extremist groups make them out to be. I'm a huge animal lover, and I probably like animals better than humans... but I find regulated slaughter a necessary evil.

When horse slaughter became illegal in the US (many years back), there were huge farms down in florida (and all over) that would illegally kill horses in horrible, horribly abuse ways. Basically as cheaply as possible. Horse neglect and abuse skyrocketed and unwanted horses were being shipped by the truckload to Mexico or Canada to be slaughtered, where they often arrived dead. Horse slaughter is legal again and it has done a lot of good and kept a lot of horses from suffering. Basically, when you say "you are required to give each cow on your property 1/2 acre of land", that's impossible and you're going to end up with animals being slaughtered illegally in horrible circumstances. Captive bolt guns are actually extremely humane... but the process to get them to the point where they shoot them may not be... it breaks my heart to know that some of the animals are totally aware of what is happening to them... animals are so much smarter than people make them out to be. I have no clue how anyone could work in that industry.
watch the movie you will see it is far from being "extremist" and thats why it actually changes people

Not all animals are raised like shit for meat. There are still a lot of family farms that put a huge amount of care into their animals. I know, I'm one of them.

Organically raised and no hormones. Grass fed beef and pork is not the same as you buy in the store and unless you're buying vegges from a farmers market or getting from your own garden I'd be willing to bet the meat from my farm has less contaminates than store bought veggies.
i have a question actually when your animals get sick or hurt (injury) do you give them medication?

most organic farmers do not and that is why organic meat raising to me is a load of shit, they wont give it which in turn the animal is suffering, nevertheless , if you'd watch the film you will see there is no mention of family ma and pa farms it is specifically about factory farming, lets face it the majority go to walmart for their meat, its about taking down the factory farms, which THEY ARE hurting, mistreating, and giving the animals pumped filled with hormones and crap

There isn't even evidence of this in any way, it's all blog posts, leading to other blog posts. Nice try.

again dude this thread was actually peaceful discussion till you come in here act like the fucking warrior of veganism and come in guns blazing fucking stop dude you're really getting on my fucking nerves nothing can be just a fucking decent goddamn conversation with you . its all defensive attacks . youre going to make this thread out of control AGAIN.
go play with your toys let us ADULTS have a conversation.

I'm curious, if we didn't live in a 1st world nation with 24hr grocery stores on every corner stocked full everyday on the day, would this discussion change it's dynamic?

I watched the film. They stopped at a "random" small farm and trespassed on the property to do their own investigation. Then they flipped out like all hell when they found 3 dead pigs in a truck. Thrown away like they were "garbage". I don't understand what they expected to see or why it flipped them out. What did they want them to do with the dead pigs? Do they even know how the pigs died? Death is a part of life. Every pig that is alive will die one day, so why is it so damn surprising to see some dead pigs? They act as if every animal life form has an automatic right to never ending life and happiness.

Watched the movie. Made perfect sence. But I would still eat fish I think if I ever went vegan. Chicken would be hard to give up.

sunni, do you realize how hypocritical and ironic that entire post is? again, this isn't about you and your feelings, never was and never will be. it's a serious topic so of course it will draw emotional responses, we're talking about the equality of animals and whether they should be murdered or not for consumption

vegans do not consume any any products or bi products lol you would be a pescetarian,. look theres nothing wrong with eating meat just eat it from the right places, like people like 420gods farms, thats when you know animal was actually loved, taken care of , given proper food and diet, its when you support factory farms that is the issue , they are really just gross , even if not for the inhumane treatment of animals they fill those animals will CRAP,its not healthy
You have to start change somewhere, and personally i think if everyone moved from cheap factory farmed meat to ma and pa farms due to prices, they would stop eating AS much meat , theres no need for 3x a day lol and of course better quality
Personally for myself i choose to be vegan, cause of the factory farming, becauseit helps my IBS, its healthy for me, i feel better, i feel good and personally i aint okay with eating bully the cow, but thats just me, and i cannot change everyone to feel like that

Ah I'm too late, I was raised on a working ranch we mainly sold black Angus, still do. And I will admit I've never seen how they were killed ect but they get lots of love while alive. I think because I was raised around them I don't see the problem with it, Im not a vegan but I don't buy/support the companies that pump their products with hormones and things of that nature. It may be wrong idk but I kinda view plants and animals the same, its wrong if your clearing a forest to put a farm there in my opinion. Just as wrong to destroy vegetation as an animal.. and so I prefer to buy products that don't have a negative impact on the environment idk just thought I would give my input.. as long as your eating healthy as a vegan or otherwise I don't think you should let others effect your lifestyle.

So you think that was a reasonable reaction by the people in the movie? You think that helped sell the cause?

EDIT - Also wasn't that considered a small family farm? I was responding because you said they didn't show any ma and pa farms.
