Only the Blue Cheese threatens to push on, but all the others are
very luckily stopping at a good distance from the light.

There are many more photos that the grow deserves at this point,
so I appreciate your patience.

Here is the tent tonight:

I would not call it leggy so much as just plain vigorous.

It has great structure and does not get lanky....but it grows very strong.

These ladies enjoyed months of Veg time, as I intended to keep them as mothers.
I was prepared for them to explode, but still just made the flip in time.

I am going to try again to bonsai them better.

Thanks for stopping in.

Hello all,

Well, it took me two days to post these, but we passed
week four from the flip last Wednesday.

Here is the tent, right after the lights went off:

I will post a better photo later.

I also tried to get in close to one of the Chem 4 OG tops:

This one is going to be tasty!

Even my gnat-driven early harvest of this one is tasting very nice, as it
comes out of the cure.

Here is an interesting note. I ran out of light warrior but I tried to
make a thinned out soil to use as I transplanted my new sprouts.

Well, the results show that my soil suck big time!

IMG_1503.jpg

You can see that the Light Warrior was used in the back and
middle row on the right side.

In the front three on the right, I tried flushing one (the left) with
plain water and actually transferred to a lighter soil. I was happy
that neither looked worse...and maybe a tad better.

I am looking forward to up-potting these, as I bet it will help those
under achieving breeds.

Take care all,

JD

Yeah cooking soil takes a long time. It's basically all about soil microbes, roots can't eat organic food at all they need to have all the right micro-organisms around to actually break the nutes down into a form the plant can eat.

Just get a baggy of mycorrhiza for the transplant, them babies WILL catch up.

I love teas.

I am just careful with the younguns.

I did buy a myco soil additive, and was sure that it at least
was part of the mix. I am betting that the perlite, that I ran
off with would have led to a more breathable soil.

The myco-additive that I bought was still around $75 but I got
like 8 lbs opposed to $45 for a fraction of a pound that is Great White Shark.

Hmmm...it is interesting. I will be up-potting them to small pots.
This should help.

Thank you all for stopping in and taking the time to comment.

Well in that case I bet you they won't take long before they just take off and they'll be looking AMAZING soon. On the young ones, Gandalf uses a ppm of around 350 with amazing results, so I'd say that is a VERY safe range. You don't want to nute them as much as just boost some microbes really :)

I do have a ppm meter. I will test the very low Liquid Karma+ProBlend that
I have mixed up. Great thought. I am curious as to what it's PPM is...

I just took some very quick shots, as I closed the tent for the night.

One full shot:
Week4+2days.jpg

Then the lights shut off and I snapper the Left, Center, and Right:

Note that you can see the snapped top and a burnt leaf in the center photo.

All in all, the stretch stopped just in time!

Take care,

Lookin SOOO lush in there man. I'm really starting to dig the idea of LED's. I run oldschool 'warhorses', 600w switchable mag ballasts and I can tell you with where LED's are going, the switch might not be far away. Only seeing good shit done with them now, I know the good gear is very pricey but in the long run I think they'll pay for themselves for certain.

Yes, the power usage will rule the day in time.

I got two of the Kessil 350s because I found a sale that was good.
(it was still $500 to get the two)

No smell issues yet, but I expect things to get stinky before the end.

Thanks for taking the time.

JD

P.S. I should add, the ensure clarity, that this grow's primary light source
is the 600W HPS in the center. The Kessils do add 190W of LED power
and that is a good chunk all by themselves, but the HPS fills the tent.

This looks great JD? Scared to ask,the price!!

LOL, with the spinner? Yeah, that would be over $1000 for just the four lights.

Kessils are not the cheap end, but the are extremely well made. The cooling
system involves an electronic heat-pump combined with a fan.

I am actually thinking of setting up a second small tent and using one or both
of the Kessils in there. This would both allow a Veg Area and a area for raising
males for pollen.

Take care,

JD

P.S. I agree on the soil...and cactus type will usually do too.

Hello all,

Today marks the end of week 5 from the flip.

I grabbed a few shots before the lights shut off this morning.

Week 5.jpg

(don't worry...they got fed before lights off. They have begun to really feed/drink!)

I am really about three weeks from harvest. I expect to take the
Qrazy Train first, then the PurpleBerry. ....then, we will see.

Here are a few top-shots, with close-ups designed to survive uploading and compression.

Great post Beech Thanks!

When I was looking into LED lighting, I got the feeling that
Kessils were well thought out. (shout out to Professor Pinhead
at Myco-tek who initially beat the path to these guys)

I might use might to power two small tents. They would be
for male/mother/Veg and would not need high power.

For now it is nice to have them to add some power. I am aiming
them from the center toward the back, giving good extra light to
Chem 4 OG and Somango which are in the corners.

They seem to be enjoying the attention. :0)

Take care,

JD

Hey there JD, how is your purple berry bx treating you?
Unfortunately the male I kept did not produce pollen. After 2 and a half weeks there was many open pollen sacks but no pollen. I gave up on the two females in with the male as I only planned on seed them anyway. Hope your experience has been better. Cheers.

Well, the PurpleBerry and the AK-47 make up the front row.

I intentionally allowed this row to be dominated somewhat
by the very large plants in the second row.

This pheno of PB did not make the best smoke, and I have
popped a couple more to see if I can find a better one.

The AK made strong smoke, but not all that tasty.

The middle row is Blue Cheese, Deadhead, and Qrazy Train
and all these are rocking. The back is the Chem 4 OG, a second
Deadhead pheno, and the Somango. All six of these plants
are filling their spaces.

I was sorry to hear of the pollen miss. Better luck!

Take care,

JD
