They will be moved 3 weeks after stretch though. I did notice a bit of shock on my plants last run round by cutting them out. I aim to keep them in veg room for 3 weeks of stretch to get a harvest every 5 weeks

starting wiring these in series and when I’ve got to the first and last strip I’m confused. Each end of the strips have a negative and a positive so when I got to the end of the loop I now have two negatives and two positives to connect to driver? What have I done wrong?

I believe my drivers are the biggest meanwell drivers you can get. The 600w each ones. They were the biggest I could find at the time anyway. And my 16ga wire doesn’t feel like it’s warming up to me. Not any more than the room temp anyway

Only difference is my driver is outputting lower voltage than yours as it’s a constant voltage driver but the wire Is rated for 300v so it should be ok

To be honest your right it is hard to find solid core. I remember now I had the same problem it isn’t solid core I have it’s stranded. And mines been fine

I’m not an expert by any means but I extended my HLG-600h-36v drivers several feet with just standard 16 awg solid core wire and they have ran fine for over a year. You’ve got enough voltage capacity on the wire, I don’t see how the current would matter since the current isn’t even that high

Yeah I understand what he’s talking about I mean how would you use shrink wrap tubing around a cob solder joint. There is nothing to wrap the tubing around to cover the joint

As it stands I haven’t tested it by touching it every time I go in there... I’ve been zapped maybe 4 times in 6 weeks... is it possible it could just be a static charge building up some how? I also get zapped every fking time i get out of my car and turn around to shut the door :bigjoint:

So your saying as long as the circuit is grounded I could go touch an electricity pylon and tell everyone it’s a magic trick? All 8 drivers are connected to 4 different receptacles all connected to ground. So the frame has 4 choices of path to get to ground. Unless the meanwell driver cases...

Does shrink wrap stick to a surface as I thought without compression around something it would just fall off. That’s why I didn’t use it
